got some beautiful SSR GT3 wheels, but there's a tiny bit of very minor curb rash on a couple of the wheels. barely noticeable, but i'm a perfectionist.

what method should i use to polish that out? any particular grit of sandpaper to use?

don't have any experience with this, so please excuse the newbness of my question.

nice!.... Im a big fan of an alpine silver supra with some ssr gt3's ........ you better post some pics of those bad boys when you get them on the car.

as for polishing the lip, i dont know exactly what method to use because of the clearcoat. you should pm "TT_6SPD_95 " his name is Tony and he knows all there is to know about polishing

it all depends on how deep the gashes are into the wheel. and whether the wheel has a clear coat or not...if it isn't too deep, and it doesn't have a clear coat, you can do the following...just take a 200 grit paper to start and take out the scratches...if that isn't enough, drop down to 100 and so forth...then you want to gradually move up in grits until about 1500 grit...at this point, the wheel surface should be smoothed over...take some polish and elbow great and go at it...or if you have a high speed buffer that'll work even better...good luck with it

I have the gt3's and im no metal expert, but im like 95% sure that there is a clearcoat on them, you might want to confirm or deny this before making a plan of action.

where in maryland or nova are you? Is that your car in your sig? I am pretty sure that i saw it around the university of maryland a few years back, and again in the Rockville area. Regardless it looks awesome in your sig, and if its the same one i saw in person it looked awesome there as well.

Hey Rob!

I apologize I thought there was only a little curb rash on the rear left wheel. The polish should get all the other little specs off from sittin so long. Glad to hear you are happy with the wheels..I took great care of them but the potholes around here in NJ are just insane. The lip can be fixed by a wheel shop..I can refer you to a great one here that fixed my father's scratched lip on a wheel on his denali. Shouldn't be more than 50 bux for a job like that, with polishing.

dude, it's very very minor. i'm definitely happy in the shape they're in. just as long as they're not bent at all i'm cool... and i wouldn't expect that from ssr's.

i wasn't aware there was a clearcoat. maybe i'll check out that place sometime. do they do repairs with the tires mounted and all?

yea that's my car in the sig. it's going through some major work at the moment...hopefully it'll be done in the coming months...i used to go to maryland and that's where you probably did see my car...i think i took it up to rockville once or twice too...mainly it's a garage queen...i've put 2k miles on her in four years

SSR gt1's come clear coated ( I have them), so i'd assume the gt3's do as well.
