How many of you owners have keyless entry? I am working on a project for the MKIV and am wondering how many people have keyless entry. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Mine has keyless entry w/both remotes. And the glass breakage microphone.

I have the entire system....even the TDS handbook. Is there any information in particular you need? I can look it up in the manual. I think it was $4XX option on my car.

I have factory keyless, but no glass breakage microphone. Someone told me the glass sensor stuff doesn't work on our cars.
Maybe...I'm not going to break a window to find out. ;)

Is the glass breakage microphone the sensor that looks like a little bubble?

I have no keyless entry, but I do have a factory alarm.
It's a little black disc on the driver's side of the center console. Down near where your right knee rests when driving.

I think that black bubble on top of the dash is a sensor for the A/C system. It probably monitors the temperature of the air coming out of the defrost vents. But i could be completely wrong.

i have it... dont use it... i installed my own viper alarm that has a 2 way remote
Is there like a way to totally disable the factory keyless? The alarm led on the dash still goes off even when I yanked out the keyless ecu. Well of course the remote won't work, but the alarm still actiavates if I lock the car with the key.

AFAIK, the alarm ECU and the keyless ECU are two different ECU's.
Here is a pic of the alarm ECU (#1). Is that the one you yanked?

I always wondered what that little microphone looking thing was.. I guess I used to have the keyless entry setup in my 94 TT, but the previous owner decided to upgrade to a clifford alarm. That is what I use now.

When i got my 97 it came with one keyless entry remote....but i broke the little plastic part that attacted it to the key ring and promtly lost it. One of these days im gonna get a new one but i just havent had the time or motivation

I have keyless entry, and i'm assuming that the glass breakage sensor works. I dunno if i'm wrong or not, but I dont see any other reason why the alarm would go off when my car got the hell beat out of it with hail. The factory alarm doesnt go off when the car itself gets hit does it?

my factory alarm is still in the car. it still can be used if i manually lock the door from the inside. i took the factory red led out and replaced it with a blue led that comes on with my new alarm. i also put one on the passenger side.. i should take pics.

You are partially correct. It's a solar sensor. Been used since the mk2.

To stay on topic, I also have the keyless w/ breakage sensor. Its a 95 TT
