How many of you owners have keyless entry? I am working on a project for the MKIV and am wondering how many people have keyless entry. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
Maybe...I'm not going to break a window to find out.whobob said:I have factory keyless, but no glass breakage microphone. Someone told me the glass sensor stuff doesn't work on our cars.
I have one remote and I always wondered what that little microphone was for.Lagtime said:Mine has keyless entry w/both remotes. And the glass breakage microphone.
It's a little black disc on the driver's side of the center console. Down near where your right knee rests when driving.Mike Hughes said:Is the glass breakage microphone the sensor that looks like a little bubble?
I have no keyless entry, but I do have a factory alarm.
I think that black bubble on top of the dash is a sensor for the A/C system. It probably monitors the temperature of the air coming out of the defrost vents. But i could be completely wrong.Mike Hughes said:Is the glass breakage microphone the sensor that looks like a little bubble?

Is there like a way to totally disable the factory keyless? The alarm led on the dash still goes off even when I yanked out the keyless ecu. Well of course the remote won't work, but the alarm still actiavates if I lock the car with the key.Jr24dawg said:i have it... dont use it... i installed my own viper alarm that has a 2 way remote
AFAIK, the alarm ECU and the keyless ECU are two different ECU's.michaelvanle said:Is there like a way to totally disable the factory keyless? Myself and some other guys in town always wondered what this was!!Lagtime said:It's a little black disc on the driver's side of the center console. Down near where your right knee rests when driving.
You are partially correct. It's a solar sensor. Been used since the mk2.chupacabra said:I think that black bubble on top of the dash is a sensor for the A/C system. It probably monitors the temperature of the air coming out of the defrost vents. But i could be completely wrong.
