I hear a knocking noise sounds like the left side of the car when I'm driving, usually at low speeds, 2000-4000 rpms.... I don't think it's a rod, because why would it stop after 4000 rpms? and not to it at all 4th and 5th gear. kinda sounds like it's coming from left front wheel but it's kinda hard to tell... any suggestions?

You might want to edit the title of this thread.

Once your car is warmed up, rev the engine to 2500-3500 RPMS, and listen for a knock. It kind of sounds like popcorn gone wrong.

Yeah the thread title is pretty funny.....

Is it a tick or a knock?

I have a knock right now...lol

Its quiet at idle and gets louder with the rev, he put it pretty good saying sounds like popcorn gone wrong...

Its not a horrible sound, or extremely loud, but its very clear that its coming from the bottom end...youll find out for sure sooner or later if you keep driving it

If you have OEM fan, you shouldn't be able to hear a valve tick after 2000 rpms. You might have a rod cock. Can you record the noise and post it for us?

I have had what I am pretty sure is rod knock for the better part of 8 months now... 6,000 miles later, it's still no worse. I am waiting for the day it just lets loose at like 3500rpm... No matter, I've already saved up the money I need for a turbo conversion.

8 months? damn...mine lasted a month and a half then it crapped out, lucky it was about 2 km's from my house so i was able to get some buddy's and push the bitch back home.

But back on topic, if you can't hear it while reving in neutral than I do not think it is rod knock. Like someone else posted, try and get a sound clip of it.
