Oh, you do not belong to the customers of Koenigsegg? You do not belong to those who are about 1.5 million euros for a third wagon to spend? No wonder, otherwise you would also include an extreme minority. Because only six Koenigsegg CCXR Edition is handmade, plus 14 CCX, which only with gasoline and not with bio-ethanol fuels can be. These afford only 890 hp and not 1018th Kids? No, surely that's enough to make itself into another dimension of driving to catapult.

With the CCXR Edition is a car that is chosen, a maximum speed of 415 km / h to achieve and in 2.9 seconds at 100 to sprint pace - no, to explode. And the whole world shamelessly his bare skin from the carbon front splitter to rear wing shows. The engine stemmt 1080 Nm of torque to the crankshaft and runs best with bio-ethanol E85, a showpiece of environmentally friendly transport policy, then? Now, with a consumption of 22 liters per 100 kilometers it will probably never be the preferred service of our Environment. Since it is very likely that the Koenigsegg engine builders to switch to the highly efficient combustion E85 rather from the viewpoint of performance enhancement have seen less and the melting of the polar caps prevent wanted.

Christian von Koenigsegg, the fastest car of the World Series build, stamped and certified by the FIA motor sport authority. Until the autumn it will be far. Honor all worthy, but in this market alone has the speed and less of the FIA's blessing to the customers on such a hot asphalt to make jet. The live anyway in a kind of parallel universe. And in this quarrel, the FIA and the Guinness Book of the only legitimate monitoring of maximum speed rides.

The venerable National Road D2 leads far away from this ugly battle for figures on the 930-meter-high Col de Vence in southern France. Why this is the ideal terrain for an exit on the Koenigsegg is? Because it is a dream of the roads in Europe, there is hardly any traffic, and because rain clouds under the sun of the nearby CĂ´te dAzur have no chance. A Koenigsegg is not just there to go straight to drive fast. The Swedish super athlete belongs on every winding racetrack to the fastest ever. Drops of sweat on the forehead threaten alone in turning maneuvers. Barriers left, right cliff, minimal gravel strip - good that the man flat on a Hydrauliklift at the front axle has, at the touch of the profound Crouching carbon front splitter on the grossest pebbled paths at highlights edge.

Before driving but the startup procedure. It reminds of a space shuttle launch. Where is merely the copilot, each of my grips with a loud check confirmed? Ten buttons are in a circle on the center console arranged, three of which are solely responsible for the launch. A finger presses the button for the on-board electrics, a second simultaneously presses the button for the ignition. Small blue, green and red lights go on, anywhere in the cockpit and on the center console. And behind me in the engine room rushing the gasoline pumps, build pressure on the imminent event. Now once again ignition and the starter button left button. The 4.8-liter aluminum V8, charged two Rotrex compressors, starts directly behind my spine, logs on to speak powerfully armdicken from the exhaust pipe. The 1018-horsepower engine must move only 1,280 kilos. So much weighs a compact car. It has usually not more than 120 hp - the only way to compare. Those who want to be at Koenigsegg with the optional carbon-magnesium wheels from Dymag still saving a few kilos, which about 15000 euros extra should be no obstacle. Quite wild natures can then also Michelin Sport Cup semi-slicks unravel. All these scenarios are playing with fire. The company also knows Christian von Koenigsegg founder. All tests listed under supervision instead. The friendly invitation expressed Let him healing! still resonates minutes after the start driving in my ears.

After the secret agent-start procedure calls, the next two-disc clutch of AP Racing its toll - and although my calf. It also offers only a narrow window of dosage and bites immediately. Once in motion, the CCXR Edition, a poem. The perpetual risk here alone in the ultra-fast response of the engine on Gasbefehle. The habituation it requires a few kilometers, only then is for me the right rhythm between the curves On. These rhythms also determines the correct handling of the ceramic brakes. The 380 mm front and rear discs 362 millimeters wide permit, no demand hard, late braking maneuvers. The CCXR breathes pure testosterone on every kilometer - phenomenal. The sound of the exhaust system to enjoy, as he is on the rocks and breaks widerhallt is worth every cent.
Any small part, of slight frame made of steel to the chassis integrated into the tank, the carbon fiber and aluminum honeycomb structure in construction to the arms from milled aluminum, everything makes for an unprecedented rigidity. As a driver you can feel the change in each direction. But not so much as an ordeal for the back, because the damper with adjustable-linkage Pushrod understand it - together with springs and stabilizers - brilliant, even harsh clashes cushion. A big help are also the thinly padded, but still sufficiently comfortable seats.

The steering acts as precise as a road car is only possible. All bearings and suspension parts are to Le Mans specification has been rebuilt, Koenigsegg also lowered the ground clearance for the front and rear Edition marginally from. The CCXR is the largest and strongest Gokart all times. Up to 1.5 g of lateral acceleration are possible with him, the steering requires just 2.7 turns from lock to lock - a blessing in the mountains south of France with their tight turns. The differential at the rear axle locks under load up to 30 percent, while Anbremsen there are up to 50 percent. Support also comes from the traction control, which has five different modes.

The six gears with a 15 percent leap shortened routes is a sensation, especially in switching operations around 7000 rpm. The first five-edition models will be shipped with this circuit. Gets number six in the second half of 2009 but already an optional system of xtrace with electronically controlled clutch and switch on the steering wheel paddles. Then you can also all other Edition owners can convert their vehicles.
Center of the fascination is, and remains, but with an engine from 4.7 to 4.8 liters engine capacity raised. Larger compressors produce a maximum boost pressure of 1.6 bar. The originating from Denmark company delivers these Rotrex centrifugal compressor. Similar compressors also uses Alpina. Timing belt driven by their rotors spin up to 90,000 times per minute. The compaction is now 9.2: 1, new camshafts, spark plugs, fuel pumps and injectors contribute not only to improve performance, but were for upgrading to the operation with bio-ethanol needed.

The first five Edition models are already sold. But do not worry, dear sheiks, Lords and tycoons. Even a used Koenigsegg CCXR Edition is a reflection. Finally, the Swede from the factory with a five-year warranty and free maintenance contract extradited. Lease rates for new vehicles is at 23,400 euros - per month.

damn i had to go back into my pic folder to see the all carbon fiber zonda f again. I think the new koenigsegg blows that away.

if you didnt mention it i never wouldve noticed. i still prefer the pagani though. but only because the exhaust note. the pagani is more than fast enough to make me shit myself

does it have a 5.0 ltr engine ? some sites have said that it is a 4.8 ltr engine

he modifications required to allow the Koenigsegg's twin-supercharged V8 to exploit bioethanol are considerable and vastly expensive.

The regular twin fuel pumps are replaced by a quartet of stainless steel items. Four are needed because although E85 (a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline) has a higher octane rating than gasoline, it contains about a third less energy per liter, so more needs to be supplied. Fuel consumption on E85 is therefore a third higher.

Further along the CCXR's fuel-delivery system there are new fuel rails and injectors, two per cylinder. Inside the engine there are new pistons that raise the compression ratio to 9.2:1 and increase the displacement of the midmounted V8 from 4.7 to 4.8 liters. There are new spark plugs and ignition coils to cope with the higher cylinder pressures, and new pulleys for the pair of Rotrex superchargers to raise peak boost from 19 psi to 23.

Finally, there is a higher-capacity mass airflow meter, new engine management programming and a "flex-fuel" module so the engine can detect whether it is being fed E85 or regular gasoline.

Hell yeah! Although they claim to have gone to a house-exclusive build, it is still a modular casting. All internals are still off-the-shelf aftermarket parts you can buy for any Ford Modular motor. It will be interesting to see if these guys ever go to the 5.4L powerplant like the GT.

You get a JVC deck for that much, along with a Sard Stack Gauge Cluster. How can one resist?

I know, how funny is that. At least the Ford GT comes with a McIntosh (even some Subarus did!). It always makes me laugh to see Ferraris and Bentleys with their hand stitched interiors, only to see the standard factory-issue old school CDE Alpine headunits sticking out like a sore thumb.
