Official: 2,000-hp "Lamborghini" Indomable Concept to find its way into production

Autoblog said:
The Lamborghini Indomable was born from the minds of Daniel Chinchilla Ochoa and Alberto Fernandez Albilares. A concept, it was created as part of a design program sponsored by Lamborghini. Now, however, this conceptual vision is going to become a reality – only it won't be built in Sant'Agata Bolognese.

A company called 215 Racing has acquired the rights to the Indomable design, and it plans to turn out a production version of the design team's rendering. Based in Abington, PA, 215 Racing will produce the car, which will be called the SF22, through its sub-company Mostro Di-Potenza. That name means "Monster Power" in Italian, and the moniker doesn't lie.

According to the company, power for the SF22 will be provided a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 9.4-liter(!) V8 engine. The mill is a General Motors 572, which will be paired with a six-speed sequential gearbox. 215 Racing expects this beast to produce 2,000-horsepower and 2,000 pound-feet of torque. Just a quick recap for you, this isn't a train we're talking about but a road-going two-door that is propelled via its rear wheels.

Of course, any company can claim such dramatic power numbers. So, we can only wait to see just how capable the finished Mostro Di-Potenza SF22 turns out – if indeed salable examples are produced at all. The company plans to build 50 examples total, at a rate of two per month over the course of two years, and says it's now taking orders for mid-2012 deliveries. The initial deposit will only cost you $1,000, but the fully built vehicle will run you close to $950,000. Click past the jump for the full press release and a video that shows off the Indomable concept from all angles.

215 Racing Inc./Mostro Di-Potenza Announces Exclusive Rights to Build the Lamborghini Indomable Concept

ABINGTON, PA, May 09, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- 215 Racing Inc. an American Based company, is proud to announce the exclusive rights to build the Lamborghini Indomable Concept created by Design 4 Motion. This design was created by Daniel Chinchilla under the Masters Program sponsored by Lamborghini. The design is a perfect fit for the first offering of 215 to the supercar market.

The car will be built by the Sub-company MOSTRO DI-POTENZA and will be renamed The SF22. This name comes from the design influence of the F22 fighter jet, and is incorporated in the car. SF stands for Street Fighter and only 50 of these cars will be produced.

"We knew that entering a market as a new supercar company has become a rarely successful trend. We hope to make our niche by offering the customers something they could never imagine," said Anthony Crudup, Chief Executive Officer, 215 Racing/ Mostro Di-Potenza.

The huge front intake funnels ram air to cool the huge 14" Disc and 6 piston Brake calipers. The rear tail lights double as an airfoil that help disrupt airflow to assist in reducing drag.

Try imagining a 2000HP mid-engine supercar powered by a twin-turbo 572 GM engine. A supercar that can fit a 6'7" driver, a 6 speed billet sequential transmission, a Carbon fiber/ Kevlar blend composite body, a full touch screen cockpit , Airspeed adjustable intercoolers and wing/speed brake.

"We think it's time for the Bugatti Veyron to pass the top speed production car crown to us. They have held it for 10 years! But that is not our primary focus, we want to give the owner something that can only come from Mostro and I think we nailed it with this design. Also 70% of all our vendors are American Companies and we pride ourselves on keeping our fingers on the pulse of the newest and most innovative automotive technology the industry has to offer," said A. Crudup.

Daniel Chinchilla, The Designer modified the design to get away from the Lamborghini feel of the car but was able to maintain the Italian styling. We didn't want the public to ask "Is that the new Lamborghini?" said Anthony Crudup.

The automobiles will be produced in the Philadelphia, PA area, at a production rate of 2 per month. 215 is currently accepting Preliminary Sale Contracts for the Purchase of the car for mid- 2012.

There was another vaporware car being proposed that had all sorts of insane numbers; 2000hp, 0-60 in like 2 seconds, etc, etc. I'll have to see if I can find the post.
At least that car I'm thinking of was a clean sheet design - these folks are like "we don't want people to say 'that's the new lambo'" They won't - they'll say "look at the body kit on that gallardo" :1poke:
