anyone know what the record for lightest weight MK4 supra turbo?

stripped out and what not... i know Dave H is pretty light at around 2800-2900? titan's supra was around 2800?

is there any possibility of hitting near 2700 lbs (without driver)?

Steve Theodore has a hardtop registry which has a link to a list of the lightest known supras in the country. Maybe he'll chime in.

I believe AAP has the lightest non- tube chasis Supra now.

2700lbs without driver is definately possible.

thanks for the feedback :) that's good to know that 2700 is possible!!

i think we should have a sticky with light weight mod lists and how much each item saves (when taken out). that is pretty informative and i'm sure valueable to some of us who are looking into lightening our cars.

Biggest weight savers for a 6SPD.

1. ) Install a Tilton Clutch
2. ) Lightweight Brakes are worth their weight or lack of in gold.
3. ) Scrap the AC and Power Steering
4. ) Hardtop conversion.
5. ) The usual racing seats and noise reduction material removal.

That's a good start .

check http://www.suprahardtopregistry.com/ for weight reduction ideas... but like wes said those are big weight reducers...

-basically lightweight wheels(like my gramlights:) )
-lightweight battery
-remove spare tire jack and all that crap from the trunk
-removal of stock exhaust and replace with aftermarket that eliminate cats...
-remove rear seat and seatbelts
etc..

hey thanks again guys for the tips and link to steve's site :)

here is what i have so far for light weight mod and their approximate weight:

tilton clutch (hell yes it frees up the car so much more! ~12lbs)
single turbo with 4" dp (~50lbs)
removed spare tire/jacks etc. (30 lbs)
race seats (~20 lbs each with brackets)
removed back seats (~20 lbs)
hks Ti exaust (25 lbs) with 4" mp (- 10lbs) - soon to be no midpipe/exaust
Modellita CF hood (~12 lbs)

so far according to Steve's site my car would weigh ~3247 lbs

are probably my main weight reduction mods for now. i need to keep the power steering because i'm trying to make it a road racing car more than a drag car.
