low vacuum after vpc install?

I installed the vpc and now the the vacuum is low on my boost gauge.. was 18psi and now its 10.. car runs fine just low vacuum ... anyone have this before? i thought that it may be cause the maf is removed.... thanx Kevin.. i checked all hoses ....
