Me Again

For the few that have been following my problem I have a couple of questions.

Is there a limit to the amount of HP that the stock cams can support? I swapped in a stock 95 ECU today and took out my G-Force. I would love to try a 98 but I cannot find one. With the same settings as the last time I dynoed nothing changed. If anyone who is going to Vegas has a spare 98 ECU I could use during the dyno session I would appreciate it:)

I zeroed out the AFC and hooked the GCC up to the VPC (in theory it should work). The car put down 624 rwhp with 583 torque at 1.7 bar (24 psi). The power curve moved to the left and I gained on (on average) 30 HP until peak HP where the gain was only 7. I was still lean though. I can never get a nice black puff of smoke after or during any pulls. I'm also running 100 octane all the time.

I have the HKS twins with the smaller . 61 housings. Normally this kit is not that torquey. I have torque #s 40lb higher than people making 40-70 more HP than me with the same kit. Do bigger cams reduce torque figures? My torque #s keep going up but my HP wont budge...that much. Could I just be running out of air?

Has anyone used the SP intake manifold yet? How were the results...booost resonse,HP?

Thanks for any help or advice you can give.

wow...sorry to hear you are still having problems...

Scott,
Thought for sure that changing out the ECU would have helped. Are you running twin in-tank pumps? Is it possible that one of them is starting to fail on you?

Seen so many of your posts on the MKIV list regarding this that I have forgotten most of what you have already tried/tested.

Sorry to hear you are still having trouble.

It seems like the first thing you need to do is figure out your fuel problems. I wouldnt be even thinking about making power or buying new parts with a 600+ HP car running lean. Work all that stuff out before you get new problems(parts).
Yeah I am with Brad on this one, you need to seriously correct your fuel problem before taking on new ones. A 600HP monster running lean is not good. You may want to readjust your A/F mixture.

It was just a question for future reference...I know what my priorities are.

I have no idea what your mods are, but if you have an upgraded fuel system which i hope you have, check your static fuel pressure and make sure it is within spec. I know that when we were trying to tune my car it was running REALLY rich and could not pull it out until we found out that the fuel pressure was wrong. Also, get rid of the AFC and GCC right now since they are for more fine tuning. Just leave in the VPC with all the knobs set to 12 o clock and see what happens. Good luck.
