This is the problem that I am having. It seems that no one have any type of expert answer on this. Among my friends, some say yes, some say no. I would think that mixing of fuels would be OK, but then I don't want to be mixing $100 worth of fuel and risking my motor.

You want concrete evidence? Here it is
My longblock has survived over 180,000 miles mixing gas. Still not convinced? For last few years its been single. Still not quite there? I have 150+ runs at 40psi of boost with an 80mm turbo, still on the stock longblock. ITS PERFECTLY FINE. I see the argument in the fact that the SG is different, obviously the application kicks sand in the face of science and theory this time
