Serious?? You guys should live in Canada then, I guess.

This is a photo of an appraisal done way back when the car looked like this.

Non turbo, no cup holders, base model.

Appraised in 2001 at:

Then the previous owner got it appraised in 2005 after a custom paint job and body kit and the book value actually dropped to $13,000. So this apparaisal group does have good taste!

You guys are really taking blue book the wrong way. This is a site that would tell you, in advance, how much your car is worth to a dealership's eye when you trade your car in for another car. The site is not a basic appraisal guide or a private party value guide type of thing. I dont think there is even such thing. You need to get it appraised by officials in person.

Read this part that I found on the site:

Trade-In Value
Kelley Blue Book Trade-In Value is the amount consumers can expect to receive from a dealer for a trade-in vehicle, assuming an accurate appraisal of the vehicle's condition, mileage and features. This value will likely be less than the Private Party Value because the reselling dealer incurs the cost of safety inspections, reconditioning and other costs of doing business.

I see.

Does anybody in the states even get apparaisals? - Im starting to question this now.

Some people do. But it is usually for classic cars. Some of the highly modified supras do get them done for insurance though. One thing about appraisals is that the car is usually not worth close to that on the market.

And the value I got from my car is 4,200-4,500 I forgot since it has been a while.

Thats right. Anybody who gets an appraisal done, its basicly for insurence purposses. When your car is 20 years old or even 25 years old (depending on what insurence companie your going with) they will consider your vehicle as a classic. There for, if you want full coverage you will need an apprasal done to your car and your monthly payments veries from there. At least its how it works in Canada. But im not asking for people to state what the market price is for there cars...

So the whole point of this thread is for Mk3 owners who had an appraisal done before to post there results. I did edit my introduction but the subject has never changed. As far as I see, nobody is in the right thread.

I got 1.9k l0l0l0l0l0l0l0l0l
Why would you even pay to get it appraised in the first place if your car is junk? I hope your not paying full premium coverage for that.
If I had a classic that was appraised for that much by officials, I wouldnt even bother locking my doors or even get an alarm installed. If a crack head would break into my car for some change he found in the ash trey, I would be pist if I had to file a claim for a new window because he didnt steal the whole danm car and miss out on $1900 and my change for a coffee. Ill bet a crack head wouldnt even think that the car is worth stealing. Cars not even worth putting gas in nevermind paying to get it evaluated by officials.

And what is a 'POS'?

You dont? It looks like you do since your screen name is - 7mgte is a peice of shit - when you do the translation.

That link to the Kelly blue book web site is to give people an idea of what to expect if they would turn there car in for a new one at a dealership. I did see the other estimation links on the site but still. That site is as pointless as this thread after it failed.
