My friends is going to buy a MKIII with a blown trans... and I know a guy that has a MKII with a good trans in it now...can a MKII trans work on a MKIII??? Thanx

The Mk2 has the same W58 trans, except the W58 Mk3 shifter is located slightly further back. Switch the Mk3 shifter housing and the cast piece that goes on the end of the shift rod and you should be good to go. Watch out for the speedo gearing as well. HTH

All MK2's use the W58, which is what the MK3 N/A's use.

With a few MK3 parts for it (like was mentioned), the tranny can be used on a MK3.
