Molding replacements

I'm working on cleaning up a nice 87 I dropped a 1jz into. Had the body fixed up and repainted a nice red color. She's super pretty, but has damaged or just plain missing trim pieces. Some of these I can get factory, others like the long trim on the door I found a place that does after market. The one thing I can not find anywhere is the drip molding above the doors. Mine are all chipped and fugly (I'm sure most get this way). Factory doesn't have them, no one makes them aftermarket that I can find, and even ebay is a loss. Does anyone know of anywhere to get these, or even a way to replace them with maybe something else and *make* it fit? for reference the part is 75551-14110 or 75552-14110 depending on the side.

I believe all the exterior trim has been discontinued in all colors. The only place I know of that makes a new aftermarket set in carbon fiber or fiberglass is this place but it says that it is sold out. I don't know though if they are made to order.

You are better off finding those drip guards used. Once you take off the upper rubber door seal that runs along the window you will have a lot of Phillips bolts that run along the body. Also make sure you find your right one for or either a targa or a hardtop.

Yeah those ones are made to order. I actually have some on the way, but that's just the set that goes around the outside, they don't do the drip molding. Also that is hilariously overpriced. I've got mine coming for half that.

Can I ask where did you get your trim? I am in the market myself for some new trim very soon...

Fair warning, it may take some extra efforts to make that trim fit nicely on an 87. I had all sorts of fun with mine... takes two hours to remove stock stuff, I bet I spent 12 hours putting on the Retrospec trim. Granted, it looks nice, but fitment, at least with mine, left a bit to be desired. That said, body work isn't one of my specialties...

I need to get trim for mine as well. I think I'll have to end up having the existing trim redone - either myself or by a pro.

Parts I have been unable to find new:

Rear quarter panel window - both pieces for both sides
Driver and Pass lower window
Driver and Pass upper window (drip molding)
Mirror Bracket (part that holds mirror and fails to seal on the weatherstrip of the window
Left Windshield molding

The other window trim was available new a few months back, but it's not cheap.

Those quarter window trim pieces are a bitch and a half. Body shop that was working on mine broke like all the clips that hold that trim piece in and had to find them. Took them about a month to find a place that actually had a stock.

When you say left windshield molding do you mean the long strip of metal and plastic that runs up the A pillar? I could have sworn I saw those in stock with a dealership. But what I plan to do with those is clean all the busted plastic off the metal, straighten it out and wrap it in vinyl tape to make it look new-ish.

Yes, I mean the driver's side windshield trim. I called all over, even ordered one from an online dealer and from eBay. Both orders were cancelled and refunded because they were out and it's discontinued. :( I was too damn late. I finally have funds in life to not feel guilty to pay over $1k for some new trim and now they're mostly discontinued, haha. Figures.
