What size ET Street drag radials are most people running? ive been looking around and have noticed that no one mentioned the 28inch height...

i just ordered the 28x11.5x15 et dr and im starting to doubt myself...

anyone have experience with them? will they fit (i have rolled and pulled fenders)?
should i go over to the 26x12.5x15?

thanks... any links or personal experience would help

you can fit a 275/60/15 (28 inch tall)et street radial without any problems if you use a 15x10 draglite with 7.5 inches of backspacing.. i had them on my car.. you cant run that tire on a 8 inch wheel, it will rub even with the lips trimmed... i know because i also tried that..lol.. as far as i know weld does'nt make a pro star in a 10 inch wide with 7.5 backspacing, so your stuck with the draglites..

hope that helps.

also, some drag lites have different inside diameters for some reason.. i had 2 different sets on my car and one set fit with me slightly grinding the caliper, the other set was locked as soon as i tightend it down and would'nt even spin....
just so you know...

basically just make sure you run a 10 wide with 7.5 backspacing in any wheel you decide to go with if your gonna run that tire, then you'll have no clearance issues with the tire..

im using 15x10 welds... but when i mounted the 28x12.5x15 mickey, i had crazy rubbing, thats y i downsized to 11.5s, im still afraid though
etstreet radials dont come in a 12.5 inch width... 11.5 and 13.5.... the 275/60/15 will fit without a problem if your stock ride height and have a 10 inch wheel with 7.5 inches of backspacing.. were talking about the same tires right? the only 12.5 wide one is 30 inch tall and that deffinetly wont fit...

yea... the wheels i was currently on are the et street bias ply 12.5 width (which rubbed with rolled and pulled fenders)... so im moving over to et street radial 11.5 ***both in a 28 inch height***

*edit*
my overall question is "is it worth sacrificing section width and contact patch for sidewall?"
should i go with a wider 26" tall or should i stick to a skinnier 28" tall?

taller is better then wider, so stick with the 28 which should fit without any issues and you'll just have to adapt to the different sidewall of the radial and how it reacts compared to the bias ply tire(normal et street)

son of a bitch.. and it has 7.5 inches of backspacing?
i dont use summit so i would have never looked there and i've never seen them listed in jegs in a 4.5 bolt pattern.....

this is all they list in jegs catalog and website..
Pro Star 96-Series Wheel
Size: 15'' x 10''
Rear Spacing: 7-1/2''
Bolt Circle: 5 x 4-3/4''
now i'll have to check summit..

Never mind Jay, I'm an idiot...I just figured if they had it in 4 3/4 they'd have it in 4 1/2 lug pattern but I was wrong, they don't make them. I just called Summit, I was going to use prostars too. You know why they make them in 4 3/4? That's the size you need for 4th gen F body fitment. BTW, Do you have to use any spacers w/ the draglites?

i bet he has them in a 6.5 inch backspacing and thats why he has clearance issues.. and no i didnt need spacers with the draglites..but like i said, some of them might fit fine and some might get stuck on the caliper..lol.. its like they started making them with a smaller inside diameter.. dont forget i have na brakes..

Yah it sucks that the Pro Stars dont come in a 7.5 inch back spacing with our bolt pattern. They do for camaros!!

Our only choice is the drag lites, and I must say they are a lot better in person then they look on the net. I was not a big fan of them and really didnt want to get them, but for the price you can't do better if your looking to run a monster tire.
