With the cooler weather this time of year in Florida i wanted to change up a few things on my car to get it nice and ready for some racing. I wanted to freshen up the way she looks as well as do a refresh on the engine and add a few things to the car as well. Here is a list of what i am planning on doing:

Exterior:
98' Headlights
Wet Sand a buff the paint to freshen it up a bit
Redo the tint
Strange front brakes to save some weight

Interior:
Dressing up the truck area a bit and making it look nice and clean
Finishing the cage and other necessary safety requirements

Engine:
Everything re-polished and/or coated black
Billet Main caps
Porting the head
Intake Manifold modified by TigArt (Mike Vig)
New downpipe and exhaust by TigArt ( 4in all the way)
Precision 2300cc injectors

Electronics:
Custom Wiring harness by Darin Dichiara at Double D with mil spec firewall connectors
MoTec Traction Control
M&W CDI

Also taking a little weight out of the car and some Welds with MT Drag radials to put the power down on the dyno and for playing on the street :)

Here are a few pics i have taken so far. As we get things done i will post photos, dyno graphs, Videos, and timeslips :)

Just dropped the block off today to get the main caps done, the head should be back soon from getting ported. Also most of the stuff getting polished and coated is finished so i should have that back soon. Hoping to have it all back together and ready to race some events the 1st or second week in December. We are all really busy with work and traveling, so its all about finding time to finish her up!

I know, i should have changed them a long time ago!

nice setup, can't wait to see the dyno numbers. Only thing is that th 2300cc won't be as friendly in the street compared to smaller injectors. Your using the same turbo as the sig?

Hope you get into the 8's with this setup, good luck!

The 2300's are the same that Darin ran in his car. They are very friendly for the street surprisingly and much much nicer than the 1600's. I run q16 so unfortunately i cannot run the ID injectors or the fuel clinic ones for the most part. I wanna try running e85 too, so i need a big injector.

#7 ·
I switched to ID2000's and havd to leave the q 16 behind. E-85 will be the choice fuel but I think some c-23 will be in the garage if needed.

What about chrome over polished? I for one hate the up keep of polished parts.

Not too sure what tests have been done on ID 2000, some claims look curious to me.
I run them with VP Import and they work amazingly well. AF are stable, car idles nicely, plugs look the same all accross. Used them at the Texas mile with no issues. Should be good up to 1900Rwhp based on what I can see.

Sucks Darin ran out of time, luck to get that killer methanol set up fully dialed in.
Best wishes with the new shop!

I hate the bling of chrome. I wanted to black chrome everything or do something cool but its too much work. I dont care enough about what the engine bay looks like compared to having nice parts on the car. I have seen plenty of chromed engine bays and i just didnt like them.

THANK YOU! Coming from working on air cooled VWs years ago, everybody used chrome parts. As for the generators they had, instead of taking the time by polishing it, they put on a chrome cover on it then chromed cooling covers, chromed rims, chromed ignition coils ... funny thing is they leaked oil *facepalm*

One thing that drew me away from some of the vws. Polished or black chrome are nice, its cleaner IMO.

Very nice that you're refreshing your supra :D

Im running a triple pump set up, darin was running Weldon pump.

Which pumps? I figured that car had dual 044R pumps

Are the Strange front brakes streetable at all? Do you ever plan on running any miles events in this car? Be sure to post some RPM based dyno graphs so we can see how it turned out. I'm still on the fence about a ported head actually

#12 ·
bugged me too
looks good, whose doin the motor?

#13 ·
I was going to ship it out there to have the mains done but shipping was just too much so we are having it done here locally where another shop gets theirs done. My head is being done at Slowboy racing and as for the assembling that will be Darin. I cant believe after as many passes, dyno runs and driving it on the street i had, we took that thing apart and it looked absolutely perfect! We were going to just put it right back together but decided since we had it apart to go ahead and do the main caps.

#14 ·
Slowboy does great work, we've had several of our Subaru heads done there. They used to be located up here in PA, but then made the move to Florida....can't say I blame them, its cold here!

Good luck with everything, hopefully I'll be losing errr I mean racing against you at Lonestar haha.

#16 ·
Oh yeah I will be doing some comparisons for sure to test if the changes I made make a difference or not. Im also interested to see if the ported head makes a difference. As for the pumps, I run triple walboros.

#20 ·
I ram 1200's. Darim ran the 1600's and didnt like them. Also yes thw presicion 2300 are the same thing as the siemens. All the same.

#21 ·
Looking forward to the outcome, should def. feel like a new car.

#23 ·
Originally it was a black auto car with tan interior.

#26 ·
Okay just picked up my exhaust manifold and exhaust housing from IPG Coating and it looks great! I might be having them coat my race wheels in this cool black chrome color they have too. It looks really nice, but anyways, this stuff got coated black. Looking forward to getting it back together!

Lookin good Jess!

Not too sure on the black chrome on wheels on your color car, might be too contrasting. Do you guys have a lot of E85 stations down there in Orlando?

#29 ·
The black chrome he had looked like a nice gunmetal. That way my race set up will look similar to my strewt set up. As for e85, we have one station and its not very close.

#32 ·
Nice. What is the "race" wheel package?
