My E-brake light comes on while braking

Has anyone ever had their ! MIL and brake light come on while braking? My car sometimes does this when coming up to a stop light fast and braking hard.........not locking up, but a lot harder than normal. It just stays on while i'm braking and goes away after. Also does it when I floor it through frist up to about 5500 and then let off completely. Otherwise it doesn't occur. My brake fluid is full, and it brakes as well as it ever has. I checked my pads and they have a lot of life left. It seems like it could be a problem with my e-brake adjustment. I also think it may have something to do with the colder weather...??? If anyone has seen this before, please tell me what you did to fix it. :)
Thanks a lot.

This could mean several things. Low brake fluid, loose EM Brake, or you need to replace the brakes on your car.

Most often it is simply that the brake fluid is low. Please make sure to post in the correct forum (Tech).

Does it flash sometimes when you hit a bump?
Might be loose connection, somewhere, for those lights or a sensor.?
No, it only happens when i stand on the brakes comming up to a light or sometimes when I let off completely after nailing it through first. I notice it most when my car has been sitting for several hours and it's cold outside. It does it a few times when i start my trip, but it won't after my car is all warmed up and i've been driving for several minutes. Man, I wish someone else had this problem, I guess I'm all alone. :(
Sorry for posting in the wrong place to begin with.

ITS BECAUSE YOUR PADS HAVE WORN DOWN AND THE FLUID IN YOUR SYST IS NO LONGER ENOUGH TO HANDEL THE GAP. JUST ADD MORE FLUID AND THE LIGHT WILL GO AWAY. THATS WHY IT ONLY LIGHTS UP SOMTIMES. I HAD THIS PROBLEM TWO WEEKS AGO.

Wow, thanks a lot. That makes sense. I'll try it today.
