Hey guys, just wanted to save you all some money because i heard someone mention of the NA BPU kit from suprastore.com.
Last year i still owned my auto 93 NA and purchased this kit from suprastore. At the time they were actually claiming a 55hp increase with this kit. after installation the only thing that seemed to change was the sound. i felt no power increase whatsoever. The only thing i didn't do was get the greddy MX exhaust and went with a TT exhaust instead so maybe that had something to do with it. The only good news was that i was able to use the exhaust on my future TT (because of it being the greddy power extreme exhaust)which i ended up purchasing in February and the cam gears, although still not on, can be used also so it wasn't a total waste of money. The supra i have now is a 6 speed hardtop and the difference in power is just amazing. Around corners, i have found that the NA seemed very close to the handling capability of the TT and the same goes for brakes even though there is supposed to be a difference. From what i have noticed, the 2 cars seem almost identical except for the power difference and with a turbo kit added, you probably couldn't tell any difference. Anyways, just wanted to share my thoughts since most TT owners haven't owned an NA and therefore tend to have no respect for the NA's.

Thanks for the input Zach.
I was also thinking about getting the NA kit from supra store but just the fact that they did not have a dyno sheet or any hard proof of the HP gain made wonder if it was true. You are the first one I know of that actually bought the kit.
Also you are right about the similarities of the TT and the NA. I too drove various TT's and the only difference I noticed is that the TT feels a lot heavier than the NA, meaning that the steering wheel felt hard like something heavy was on top of the car. But on my NA the steering feels lighter. Of course once the turbos spool you can feel the BIG difference between the TT and the NA. :D
After that, the braking, handling and all the other stuff felt the same. I test drove different TT's and also driven my friend's cars.
I just love my NA and would not change it for anything.. not even a TT. I'm just going to Turbo my NA... yeah. its more expensive but I'm too attached to my NA :)

Thanks for the replies guys. I had a very difficult time getting myself to sell the car but it was either that or a turbo kit. At the time, i was so dissappointed in the bpu kit that i didn't want to take any chances whatsoever with buying a turbo kit and having it not perform up to standards and i already knew for a fact how the Supra TT performs. I'm sure the turbo kit probably really does what it claims but I wouldn't reccomend the one Suprastore sells basically because they lied about their NA BPU kit. I also always wanted the manual transmission so it made it a little easier to sell my auto NA. I was really lucky in finding my car though because it was only 1 week after i sold my NA that i found a TT for sale in Tampa, FL. and a hardtop at that. I do miss my targa though for those days you just want to cruise around and enjoy the drive. Once you get that turbo kit on though, you will get the speed disease and always want more.:D

Zach, Oliver...
thanks for the input... i'm VERY attached to my NA, but i've always thought about trading up to a TT for the speed, but another member posted "it'll probably get me killed." he's probably right. or at least twice the amount of speeding tickets i already have :(

again, thanks for the input

As long as you keep yourself from driving it reckless or unsafe, then you shouldn't have to worry about crashing it or getting yourself killed. So far, I haven't had any speeding tickets since I bought the car in February but I'm not saying it can't happen. If i did, i would get one tomorrow. :) I had one speeding ticket with my NA before this. If anything though, don't give up the possibility of adding the turbo kit to your car since your so attached to it. you'll love the way the throttle responds. its always nice to be able to pass other cars with ease only using half throttle and hearing the engine not even trying and you see that honda on the far lane reving up to 7000+RPMS trying to stay with you thinking your racing. :D Later.

Fo' Da Luv Ov SUPRAZ

I got a n/a and my best friend got a 12 second 93.5 TT with some fun goodies under the hood. I've noticed the same thing on the steering wheel, brakes also. Suspension wise, his does seem alot stiffer and rides alot smoother. I LOVE that car though. Exteriorly it is stock, except for a APR evolution GT-II wing, and lowered 2" and I rather cruise that car any day than my black, slow supra with 18" Konig Imagines (225 front, 255 rear) and the supra wing. Everyone seems to like mine more, but if there was a 88 nissan sentra runnin' 12's, I'd also rather drive that too! But anyways, we're just some "punk" 17 year olds with supras. Startin' off right, since I do make my own car payments. Peace Supra Owners!-SupraDaddy_NA
Thanhs for the warning. I attempted to email suprastore to ask them to refer that particular customer to the n/a's represent yourself post, but got no response. Another forum member fusionA has some interesting results with some of the same parts & some different parts added to his/(her?)n/a. I'm still stock but definitely will go the intake/exhaust route. I'm not so sure about the pulleys though.

Hey fellow N/A's,

I've talked to someone that purchased that kit and he told me it's not what its cracked up to be. Yes, you will get a little more added power, but i don't think its worth the amount they're selling it for. Plus, they don't communicate very well and don't answer emails back. Don't be suckered into it N/A's!! :p
