Alarm and Starter Problems. Help. Please Read

First thing is first i have the stock toyota alarm system. I dont have an alarm clicker or remote. The only way to activate and deactivate my alarm is from my door with my key, well i went to open my door today and the alarm light inside goes off thats on the dash which its suppose to do but my alarm set off and was going crazy, so i insert my key in the ignition and the alarm turned off, now my starter doesnt even click or do anything, i do have a starter problem to begin with, it clicks for awhile then starts and sometimes just starts fine. But now it aint doin shit no click no nothing. So i disconnect my battey for like 10-15 mins and reconnect and my alarm goes off again i repeat the order and same thing, did my alarm just take a dump on me. What can i do to get my car started, i have never ever messed with an alarm system before so im figuring how to get her started somehow and get it to my mechanic friends shop. I did call my friend and told him what happened and he was trying to go step by step on what to do but i figured i dont want to short anything out and fuck something up even more. Does anyone have any ideas on how to bypass the alarm or disconnect it completly and still have my car start. Sorry for the long thread but im in a jam and could use all the help possible.

PLEASE MTV PIMP MY RIDE...... SHIT!!!!! YAAA RIGHTTTT

I just skimmed and got the jist of it....

your alarm went off now your car won't start?

Lock your doors/activate the alarm with the key.

then disarm.

get in and start your car.

:)

If that doesn't work, i'll read more in depth

well i already came to the conclusion that my Drivers Side cylinder door lock has bad contacts in them. I went back to the car and unlocked from passenger side and everything is fine. i got her started and now im gonna take apart the door and examine the door lock and porbablly replace it.

^ EXACTLY, the driver's door key lock/unlock switch has worn or dirty copper contacts inside. Take it apart, 2 tabs hold in the inner rotary cam part that indexes over the rear of the lock cylinder. Clean the rotary and stationary copper contacts and slightly bend up the rotary contacts to make better contact with the stationary contacts. Apply either a LITTLE lubriplate or some electrical conductive grease (same stuff used on the horn/cruise contact rings and brushes behind pre-airbag steering wheels) to the stationary contact rings before re-assembling. I've had this same problem on 2 Supra's ('88 & '92) and it's always the driver's side as it gets the most use.
BTW, a new switch for the driver's side will costs more the pass. side because it includes the key cylinder LED and comes with a 5 terminal connnector wiring harness.

Thanks for that nice write up MIKE. Im going to take my door panel off tomorrow morning and take a look at my cylinders. I have noticed alot of people with this same problem, YET another problem along the way of owning such a wonderful Car.

My car will down for about 10 days as i will be replacing both front wheel bearing, lowere ball joints, outer tie rods, front upper and lower bushings as well as the rear upper arm bushings (ALL POLY). All this accomadated with Tokico Blues with B&G springs. Im getting some new sways bars in a couple months cause at the moment im broke as my momma'a fine china. Ill try to get some pics of the installation and ther rest on the car, if i can just get my digital camera back from my G/F. Stupid Girl had it for months no.....
