At just bpu level(dp,exhaust,bc,bcc) what stall are you guys using and what 1/4 and et are you guys getting from it?

And please don't respond with what you think is good. Only respond if you actually have or had a TC. I just want opinions from guys with experience with it. Thank you.

i have a 94 tt auto bpu+++ with a precision industries 3600-3800 stall. my best 60' so far is a 1.69, and i ran an 11.6 @ 118 on bfg comp ta tires. in my opinion, this stall is perfect for the stock twins. i am in ttc, but the stall is just as good in sequential.

I guess I will do the BPU +++ also I want to run at least deep into the 11's on stock Twins prior to going single.

Stock stall... times are in the sig. As you can see/compare w/ above, a TC is where it's at for dropping some low times. That and nitrous are my next two big upgrades for some hopefully low 11 second passes.

Nice time Caughron. Is that on pump gas or racing gas?
I see you have a fmic. What else you have in your car to run that time?

Fucking fast. VeilsideTT that is my goal just to dip in the mid to low 11s. Exactlly what is your setup? Pump or Race gas?
Which Tc? Which shift kit? Tranny cooler by chance?

My setup was a few gallons of race gas mixed with 1/4 tank pump, headlight removed, trac fuse removed, BFG drag radials, around 19psi. My torque converter and shift kit were done by a local place, Pro-tech transmissions. They also installed a cooler and aux. filter.

I was gonna go back to the track with a FMIC and cam gears but I blew my stockers and went single. Hell, I could have gone faster even without the FMIC and cam gears. I only got 3 runs in that day, it was the first day I tried launching the car with the TC. My best 60' was 1.76 which I definitly could have improved.

Thanks man. I guess they're okay, but they're definetely no 11's like these guys are running... then again, I'm still on stock stall. That was on a mix between 93 and 110. Headlight pulled, trac fuse pulled, BFG drags, 1.3 kg/cm2 boost, 93 degrees, and Bristol Motorspeedway elevations (~1400 ft). Basic bpu plus the FMIC and a crappy tune on a AFC, only pulling out 4% across the board. Not too shabby I guess, just a good 60' away from an 11 second pass.

I'll probably be going w/ either a PI 3600-3800 stall or a Midwest setup. Oh... and like said above, you've gotta do tranny cooler(s) when this is done as well!

VEILSIDE... would you like to comment more on this "shiftkit." What exactly does it do? and how?

Yes plz comment on a shift kit. I have heard about it but was not really sure what it does and its functioning purpose. Also do you have a lock-up in with your stall? Do you need it? Thats cool that a local tranny shop can install it all. What did it run you so I know what to expect when I get my shit done.

What brand did you guys go with?
TC?
shift kit?
tranny coolers?

The shift kit is an upgraded valve body. It just allows the shop to safely turn up line pressure so that the car shifts harder and faster. It was fairly cheap ($600) but with BL selling their tranny for $1800 I would just save for the completely built tranny. They also upgrade the valve bodies in all upgraded trannies so now I'm gonna have to pay for the same service again.

The local tranny shop actually produces the TC and modifies the valve bodies themselves too... too bad they are sorta dicks. My friend just opened up a shop though so I'm about to buy BLs tranny and put it in myself over there.

Also, check out Summit for some good cheap coolers. i just bought one of their B+M 28,000. Its only $54 and it is pretty big.

I have a "2800 stall" but I thi8nk it's more like a 3200. I went from high 12's with stock stall (and some boost leak issues later discovered) to a best of 12.02 with the TC and (still only making 1.16 bar) 1.8x 60's on true street tires. With drag radials the car will be well into the 11's and I'm hoping for low 11's after some tuning with the AEM.

A stall convertor make a huge difference.

sweet. I think for christmas Im gonna buy myself a TC and x2 tranny cooler. Does anyone have any experience with SoundPerformance TC? It goes for like $1200 or so and there is no core charge. What they do is they get new one and work on them. And if I remember correctly they can change your stall for free for up to one year. Worth it? Its kinda expensive but is it worth it? If you guys could name some TC out there and the price I would greaty appreciate it.

SP uses PI converters. They are good but people making big RWHP have been having problems with them lately. You may want to talk to Boost logic or even Val (username: VNTperformance) They are both dealers of PI and Midwest converters and have great prices.
