AH I just did the job you are taking about!
In the rear the black shim touches the back of the new brake pad and the silver shim lays ontop of the black shim(make sure you use the grease they supply with the shims in between the pad and shims!) HINT: the Arrows on the shims should point in the direction of the tires rotation!
THe front pads only should have silver shims, one per pad, so Eight big silver shims for the front brakes.
The rear pads have black and silver shims like you already pointed out.
