Im taking the head into the shop to get it rebuilt and resurfaced, well heres my question im removing the egr cooler do i need to have the exhaust and the intake hole tapped behind the cooler or just the exhaust side? I want to remove everything that goes with the egr it was all rusted and shit probably not working properly and plus i wanna remove all the vacum lines making for a cleaner engine bay esp under the intake manifold theres no emmisions here and if there ever is ill prob just make this my track car now
please post any pics or plans on these ideas ive done the searching and i heard to tap the exhaust side hole in the back of the head but didnt hear anything about the intake side. thanks

If you're talking about the intake side of the head, where the egr valve bolts to the runner flange, you don't need to do anything with that. If you're talking about the port on the plenum where the pipe running from the egr to the plenum bolts up, then you will need to block that off.
