steve...i plan on getting 19x9.5, 19x10.5 volk gt-c face 2 all around. i don't know which offset to get. i would cut my fenders so i'm hoping to fit a 265/30 and 305/25...you think i'll run into problems? also what tires would you recommend in those sizes?
+47mm/front, +50mm/rear. i, however, don't know if anyone carries those offsets for the size rims i want in face 2.

Chris,

I have no way of telling you if the wheels will clear the calipers, but the tire sizes would be 245/40R18 front and 265/35R18 rear.

Are there any measurements on the wheel I can give you for you to tell? I always thought the offset was what made it clear the calipers. Thanks

GaNg[sTa],

Are those offset available in those wheels? I need to know the offset you can actually buy those wheels in.

Chris,

The offset has some indirect affect on brake clearance, but the style of the wheel if the biggest factor. There is nothing on the wheel that will show you if they will fit.

these are the offsets and tire sizes i got from dusty

18x9 face 2, offset =42, tire size = 245/40/18
18x10 face 2, offset = 44, tire size = 285/35/18

OR

19x9.5 face 1, offset =46 , tire size = 245/35/19
19x10.5 face 2, offset = 37, tire size = 285/30/19

On the 18" wheels I would recommend a 255/35R18 front and 285/30R18 rear.

On the 19" I would run a 255/30R19 front and 275/30R19 rear.

i also have to worry about my body kit. top secret front, veilside sides, veilside rear valences. i don't want to unintentionally cause damage because the wheel height is lower then stock; therefore lowering the car just a tad more and have them possibly scrape more on bumps/dips. i don't want to scrape my hks ti either haha. what i'm trying to say is...i'd rather have the ride height up half an inch or so and less wheel gap with bigger rims/tires that have a taller wheel height then stock.

would those fit on a stock body or would i have to cut all my fenders?

also since stock is 45mm front/40mm rear. isn't a 10mm difference kinda too much for only going with a wheel 1" bigger?
I thought stock offset was 50mm front and back.

GaNg[sTa],

Those sizes were recommended for stock fenders.

The sidewall number is not mm's. The front 45 mean it is 45% as high as it is wide (235mm*.45*2/25.4+17"=25.3"). Meaning the stock tire is 25.3" tall. The 255/35R18 will be 25.0" tall. The stock rear is 40% as tall as it is wide (255mm*.40*2/25.4+17=25.0"). Meaning the stock tire is 25.0" tall. The 285/30R18 is 24.7" tall. Basically your car will be approximately .15" lower. Basically the difference between a new full tread tire and a tire that has half the tread worn off.

Running taller tires to protect your bodywork will cause them to rub.

BTW it's interesting that both of your cars have body kits, but both still have stock wheels. :)
