mine looks like shit. It looks as if the guy before me had sand paper for wipers, cause there are two big swirls and then there are little pits and chips all over it. Its not worth it to me to go and buy a new one if I am planning on getting rid of the car in a little bit. That new one sure looks good, though.

i didnt do it, it seemed basic. take old one out, put new one in. took like an hour for mine with 2 guys. basicly what they did was

take off the trim and wipers.

used this thing and cut the glue holding the window in.

cleaned the dash and cleaned the place where the glue would stick.

rubbed the edge's of new windshield down with some cleaner to give it a deep clean and score the window.

put the glue on the car around where window goes.

stuck window on.

put new clips on the trim stuck trim on.

thats about it they even vacuumed out the front of the car for me and cleaned the rest of my windows. nice guys and cheaper then all the other place's

Do not drive any car with a urethane set windshield glass without the glass in place. It can cause unibody frame damage, and require setup and frame pulling/straightening to fix it.

The glass is a structural part of your car. (trucks are another story as is any body on frame vehicle.) Unibody cars use the glass to help hold the body in place.

Just got mine replaced for 100 dollars, dude came to my house in truck with my new windshield and installed it under 30 mins professionally and was out of there in no time. New windshield totally kicks ass...I'll try to post some pics to it.

oddly enough thats something i've always wanted too. it seems like no matter how well i clean my windshield theres always a film of grease or some shit on it, like the previous owner smoked in the car and that was the only sign that he did so.

you guys need full glass insurance! if you get crack in the windsheild, it breaks of whatever, you call your insurance company and they send a guy out who finishes it in half an hour. bam youre done.
