Next? Now my Lady is BPU++ but I want more...

I have Greedy BCC, APEX’i N1, RMM DP, APEX’i BOV, MBC (20psi), polished head, K&N intake, K&N A/F monitor, EGT gauge, boost gauge.

What would you suggest to go with? What is best for money value? How many more rwhp could I suppose to get?

Big thanx for your help and HAPPY NEW YEAR with more&more HP...

You are just bpu +, you have only 1 +

+'s include, but not limited to:

Front mount intercooler
Lightweight flywheel (or multi-plate clutch which includes a lightweight flywheel)
Fuel controller (AFC, AFR)
VPC
ITC
Upraded ECU
NOS
Cam Gear (or gears, just exhaust side is needed for BPU)

Untl then, you're just BPU peter.

I dont even know if i'd consider headwork a Plus, but since its there you have to give it a plus.

Head work is almost APU, but since you're lacking other APU stuff, it can be used as a plus.
Sorry for my mistake, I fought that profesional cold air intake & custom air box & K&N is "+" and that is why I had put ++

Anyway, please answer my question what should be next. I was talking today to my mechanic and he told me not to use cam gear. He said it could increase HP at some rpm but at another rpm it will lower HP. Sorry for my English. For example:

Before cam gear:
4000 rpm - 300rwhp
6000 rpm - 400rwhp

After cam gear:
4000 rpm - 290 rwhp
6000 rpm - 410 rwhp

What do you think?????

Peter,

If i were you the next thing i'd go for is a FMIC cause lets face it... more horses = more stress on the engine and we all want our babies to live forever right??? just a thought and good luck

Will it work together with active front spoiler (AFS)? I remember that someone on this forum had to disabloe AFS to mount FMIC. Is there any FMIC that will work together with AFS without any problem?
G
How about fuel controller ie vpc, etc etc...?

Kaz
Yeee, I am thinking about fuel controller, cam gears and FMIC.

Question is: which to choose and why? Which has best ratio -price/HP ?
G
fuel controler>> fields sfc

yeah - you must disable afs when you instal fmic...

ps
happy new year for you and your family
I've heard that I could mount two stock IC instead of FMIC. What do you think?

FMIC = no active spoiler (other than in the down position).

Well i have the front active spoiler as well and by looking at the mechanism i would say Big NOOOOOOOO to FMIC :( Unfortunately it's either the FAS or the FMIC.
BTW how could you fix the spoiler in lowered position once you remove the motor and the bar( that controls the movement)

Definately get the fuel controller and tune it...you will see the most hp there.......My gain on this alone was a peak of 20 but in some parts of the curve, more up high, I gained 55-60rwhp...this was mostly above 6000rpm.

Next in line would be the VPC....Without tuning at all I gained 23rwhp on the dyno.

Cam Gears would be next after that......I gained 11rwhp from tuning them on the dyno.

The FMIC (controversial mod to stock twins) gained pretty much nothing on the dyno but it will allow you to do back to back runs if you like and not have to worry about the stocker having to cool down so much. If you try back to back runs with the stocker it will just be heat soaked. On the dyno I pretty much gained nothing but going down the road I would guess you would have to gain something but since I don't know for sure I am not going to comment on that.

I test everything at the track and the dyno and the FMIC is the one mod that I haven't really seen a gain with...the only reason I bought it in the first place is because I was going to go single turbo and it looks pretty good also. For the single turbo I think it is a must have mod, but for stock twins I don't think it does much good.

I think that people make up fixed brackets, it's done a lot here in the UK so it can't be too tricky.

@yasir
look here

you need to remove the hydraulic mechanism and fit the spoiler with for example plain alu parts...

How much is a VPC and fuel controller? The AEM ECU looks like it may go for under $1400 so if you're edging up on that perhaps that might be a good step? Full control of ignition and fuel but to go MAP you'll need some additional parts. Might be worthwhile and it's one of th efirst mods I'll make to my car at nearly BPU level. (shrug) Dunno' what it'll go for overseas or if there are pinout differences that might prevent it's use on your cars...

How about a digital temp probe? You would be able to watch to see how much of a difference a FMIC is making going down the road with a temp probe. A friend of mine is working on a digital one for reading before and after the intercooler so we can measure effeciency while driving. Done right it could display temp drop across the intercooler or temp in either pipe. Would be interesting to see what sorts of results the stock piece has over a FMIC. I had a company make me an analog one once but it was too big to easily mount in the car :( The only digital one I ever saw being sold was WAY too expensive for what goes into the silly things... Would certainly solve the question of the FMIC helping though huh? Actually, it would also help figure out just where the stock twins begin REALLY heating the air. Lot's of potential uses...

Thank you very much for you inputs.

OK, I will get fuel controller. Please advice which one? Doing search I have found that APEX s-afc is really good.

That is the one that I use and I like the most but there are some people having good luck with the HKS AFR also.
I CAN GET USED S-AFC FOR 150$. IS IT GOOD PRICE? AND WHAT SHOULD I CHECK?

THANX
