Hello !! I am glad to find this topic and hopefully I can help Japanese translation... I work in NYC and picked this magazine (called "Best Car Magazine Plus" Apr/5 issue) at Japanese bookstore only a block from my office. Sorry if my English is not perfect but at least you figure out what this magazine describes.

Nissan GT-R will debut at Tokyo Motor Show on Oct/24. Price is confirmed at 6,600,000 Yen = USD 55,932 (USD 1 = 117 Yen as of 3/16). This is much less than we expected, IT'S A BARGAIN !!

New GT-R is currently being tested at Nürburgring North Course since last fall and has beaten best time of Porsche 997 GT3 (7:42). The article does not list lap time of GT-R, but quicker than 7:40? For reference please see below. You can have idea of how fast new GT-R runs. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordsch...test_lap_times)

GT-R will have 3 versions - Stock, V Spec, and Evo Spec. Evo version will be sold a year after of stock debut = Oct/2008 in Japan, it will be limited production, and not sure if Evo model will be sold in US. All models has same engine spec 3.8L Twin Turbo (not 3.7L), VQ37HR 450hp 50.0kgm but Evo will have carbons all around & 2 seats (i/o 4seats) super light weight and comes with carbon disk (option). R35 will be made as the fastest production car in Nürburgring. Price: Stock USD55,932 (in Japan), V Spec USD68,376 (estimate), Evo Spec USD85,470 (estimate). Price of Evo is far below Porsche 997 GT3, around USD 120,000-130,000 range?

The pictures I list below are CG from this magazine, although they always post reliable ones. I just found this thread only allow 2MB. I post 2 pics and will attach more later. Please note a pic with fold line is Evo model. Other pic is stock.

Buy stock model or wait until Evo comes to US? I would buy stock model (I have to make deposit !!), keep it for 5-6 months until Nissan official announces Evo availability in US, sell stock with premium (the price will be higher than MSRP for first 5-6 months) and buy Evo. Or keep stock if Evo is not sold in US. It still run faster than Porsche 997 GT3 on track !!

Hello again !!

It is only 6 months away from new GT-R R35 debut and many car magazines
in Japan are competing each other for most accurate updates.

I hope this has not been posted yet, this is a translation of another Japanese car
magagine called "Car Top", May'07 issue. I will not describe all of the report since
many portions are same as Best Car which I previously posted before
(http://www.nagtroc.com/forums/index....owtopic=19607).

I compared these two magazines and found many updates are same as Best Car:

Debut on Oct'07 in Japan with 2 versions
'Evo" model will be avail a year after
V6 3.8L Twin Turbo VQ38HRTT
6MT & 2 Pedal Semi Auto Shifter

And these are some updates Car Top magazine is saying they are more accurate than Best Car:

480hp / 58kgm (i/o 450hp / 50.0kgm )
3 grades will be called Std, M, V (i/o Std, V, and Evo)
Prices will be Std USD57,627 (in Japan), M USD67,769 V over USD93,220(USD1 = Yen118)
(i/o Stock USD55,932, V Spec USD68,376, Evo Spec USD85,470)
M grade will be "Luxury" version - equipped with leather seats & int, high grade stereo,
softer shocks, etc
V (Evo) version will have 530hp with lighter weight by carbon seats, no rear seat,
ceramic brake rotors, 220lb lighter than Std model. 4WD system will be modified for
track use.

So these updates are more accurate than Best Car? Probably yes as this issue is newer
than Best Car 's Apr'07 issue. But many car magazines in Japan are competing to
give more accurate info now and hopefully I can help providing these in this forum !

Three trim levels for the GTR? The price for the base is insane.

I'm liking that EVO model...

:bsflag: It would be awesome if that were true but I'm having trouble buying that unless it's either MUCH lighter than everybody thinks or VERY underrated at 450HP.

I agree. BS. Stock car will probably end up around 3600-3800lbs. It won't be touching 7 minutes anything on the 'ring

I won't believe it until the GTR is acutually released.

Can't believe I'm going to be the first one to say it...

That wing is HIDEOUS!!! :barf:

The car is way to busy looking in general, I hope all those silly scoops and slits don't make it to the production car.

+1 on the BS flags.

Fixed.

I think owning that car would be like dating a girl with a killer body, but with a buttaface. The paper bag only works for so long.

The wing is ridiculous; I hope they have an option to delete it. Also, the rear diffuser is a bit, well, ugly. It doesn't blend well with the rest of the rear end. Otherwise, I like it.

Haha, what gives you that idea. The R34 was already 7:XX and this thing was built to beat the 997 around the ring. I don't think they'd release it without hitting that mark.

The plain Skyline looks better..This GTR EVO looks way too busy...Too many conflicting scoups and dimples. And that wing...EWWWWW but if it can beat a GT3 and Z06 around the Ring as claimed I wont complain for long:)

I love it. :bigthumb:. The EVO looks like a worthy successor to the R34 GTR.

I think it is great that Nissan is making this car, but I just wish it was more attractive. The whole car is too "busy" for me. Angles here, curves there, vents here, giant wing there, etc.
