Hey guys. I planned on running this class. Since Nopi decided to be assholes and combine the class with all the factory 1000lb hondas that now run low 8's, what the hell is the point? Winning honda this past Nopi event ran [email protected]! Hell, we should just jump to the damn street tire class and run with MSP and those guys at this point. I thing NHRA and IDRC will be more competative and fair towards the street class. The winning car at the past two NHRA events has run high 9's and low 10's which is respectable, but still easy enough to compete. Low 8's is simply out of the relm for me.....I know you Supra guys ran fast times, but I think Nopi shot themselves in the foot with this decision.

Check it out.

Haha - yea I have to agree. Look at the turbo street class... you better click 9.50's all-day to even have a chance.

Glad to see the 2JZ's putting down the Mustangs though in the Pro Outlaw RWD and Pro Street Tire class. :)

Are you on Drugs?

Why are you spreading misinformation?

Turbo street is the new class that combines old turbo4 and turbo6.

That Class with the 8.3 Honda is the Pro 4 Cylinder class which used to be combined with the pro GT class, but was split in 2.

What the Hell are you talking about?

Turbo street is now a 9.5 class, if you can't run that and cut a light keep dreaming.

I cannot understand all these 1000+Hp street supras and none are at any of these races, they are eligable to run turbo street. Where are they?

I thought it was posted that turbo 4 and turbo 6 merged into one and it was just "turbo 4". If not, great.

We're doing exactly that. Driving around on the street without all the b.s. hassle of safety equipment :)

Nopi can eat a dick if they think I'll gut my car and destroy it with a cage and a host of other things. NO thanks...

On a good note.. Good to hear MSP taking it to the Mustangs boys!

Chucky I hear you man, you have a good point there, same thing I have thought about many times, but the safety is for you, and in a high HP supra things happen.

If you are interested enough to truly build a car for a series I am sure it isn't a big deal for you to read the rules and see what is required for a particular class you want to run. The info is on the web, www.nhraimport.com, or www.nopi.com

Yea,

But they don't allow TH400s in that class and you are not going to run 9.5s reliably on a built Toyota trans.

I suppose one could convert over to a stick-for around $10k, but parts breakage and consistency go hand and hand it seems when you try to do a lot of drag racing with a 6-speed....not to mention you'll almost have to run a $4k Tilton clutch or be consistenly rebuilding a lesser clutch.

It just seems like it takes out the weekend enthusiast that doesn't live for racing.

Please excuse Wicked 7.... He was confused on the classes.

Sean, I'll be out representing MSP at MIR in the turbo street class.. may 20/21st. With all the safety shit. and in my 6 speed. I'm looking forward to the competition this year. I always hated not having a full competative field...looks like this year will not be the case. See you at MIR.. :)

I don't believe it takes that much to sink into the high 9s....with a TH400 of course. A 6-speed, that is a different story.

Look at the link closely. He posted results for PRO4 not Turbo4
There is no HONDA in a street class touching under 9.50's right now
