I have the same swap done on my supra..jap motor..
Well oem LSD won't fit the 5speed Rear End casing..you will have to purchase the whole rearend chunk(casing) with lsd internals..
Also your 5 speed tranny with not hold up much longer..pretty weak gearbox..I went with 6 speed and welded my rear end (original 5 speed differential)...don't plan to weld it because turning corners causes tire wear..
He's right. I changed the complete driveline including the tranny. Not a cheap idea considering. If you start "boosting" your NA your clutch and tranny will hold up and good luck finding someone that makes a clutch that can hold HP.

Now I am stuck with a complete 5-speed driveline- who wants that!

How much are you purchased the 6speed tranny and

whole rearend casing with LSD iternals,Where I can find it,

I did SWap motor 15month age, car run Good,I had custom made clutch,But 1st gear very

short, and when 2nd gear on full boost( 18psi) trie slip, rear of my

car like fishtailing in the other line, that why I get Lsd,(I run Stock

spring,sway bar with koni shocks,f 245/40/17 r265/35/17)Thanks

It's probably cheaper just to get the TRD LSD for the auto/NA and have that installed then swapping out your entire rearend.

MVP has them for $805 I believe...

I purchased my 6speed tranny for 2500..Well the rearend cost about 800 with internals..you will just have to look for it.
The only way to find out if it is a real 6speed rearend is checking the gear ratio..3.11:1..Get some adjustable rear shocks to handle the fishtailing and wider tires like 285 or 295...The reason your fishtailing is because of your open rearend of the NA..only one tire spins..if you do get the 6 speed tranny and 6speed rear..make sure you get the driveshaft also..there are different length for 6speed.
I had to change my axles as well. If you have the diff apart or find a broken one, I would highly recommend getting the TRD limited slip. Much better than stock.

Shipping that rear diff ain't cheap- about $70 depending on how far it has to go.
The TT auto differential is a good match for the 5-speed. The whole diff bolts right up, except for the front yoke. You need to take the front yoke off the n/a diff and put it on the tt auto diff. I ran like this for quite a while.

If I keep 5speed and put the auto LSD or TRD LSD, I can

install by my safe, it is so simple or very hard to do that .:D the TRD LSD is coplete fitman or some mod.

Dave Are you stay run with 5speed, what kind clutches you used.

thanks guy.

J Watson has responded to a post regarding the lsd for the n/a. He said the TRD unit does not come with the final drive ratio so I can only assume that your car will pull straighter, but still be "short geared". He said my n/a 93.5-96 has 4.27 gears.
Andy,

Remember when you change rear carriers (or diffs as many call it) you'll need to change the axles as well because each diff has a different width dimensions.

Switching them out is very easy if you have the right tools. You'll need a 10mm allen wrench and a couple of floor jacks because the diff is quite heavy and unbalanced.

As far as mixing driveshafts and axles I didn't want to go there since this can make or break your car moving under stressful loads.
J Watson emailed me & said to order the trd lsd which comes without the ring & pinion. It must fit int the n/a housing. You will need to buy bearings. He didn't mention axles for this mod, but this is for an n/a with a TT auto lsd conversion.

I DO! :D
What are you offering for the 5-spd change over parts?

I've got the following pieces.

5-spd transmission
driveshaft
rear carrier
2 axles
rear transmission cross brace
shifting linkage
clutch cylinder
Flywheel

All you'll need is the ECU ($250) shift knob, shift lever, pedals, pressure plate, clutch plate and clutch hydraulics.
