Bringing a 2014 Toyota Corolla. Its sporting stock sized wheels and tires. A 1.8l mated to a manual 6spd transmission. Complete with a custom car seat setup in the back with the option jogging stroller. Look out, will be rollin in hard with my 5month old!

LOL.

Just spectating this year. Hope to compete next year though.

Has there ever been a thought to add a road race event to this gathering?

Just to update everyone: We are closely monitoring the hurricane and right now we do not have any plans to cancel. We will make a final call this evening with potential to push the schedule to Saturday/Sunday instead of Friday/Saturday. Stay tuned and plan on racing this weekend. A hurricane never stopped Florida from throwing a party!

UPDATE: Like everyone else, we have been closely monitoring the projected path of Hurricane Matthew. There are many things to consider, chief among them being the safety of everyone in the potential path of the storm. Our main concern is that everyone remains safe and out of harm’s way.

As far as how the storm affects the event, the current official track prediction from the National Hurricane Center has the storm passing the Tampa area in the morning on Friday. Right now, we expect to get some rain during the day on Friday which might linger into the afternoon. But then the forecast for the weekend looks great. That being said, we have come to a decision to push back FL2K16 to Saturday/Sunday instead of Friday/Saturday.

We understand that lots of folks have already made plans, booked hotels and taken off work to come to this event from very far away, and we also understand lots of you in the projected path of the storm are putting family first and waiting it out to see what it does. That’s the main reason for the postponement. We want to give everyone the opportunity to attend as planned, while also allowing you the time to make the right decision for your family.
Alongside our great supporting vendors and sponsors, we have put a lot of work into making this event happen for all of you, and that’s what we plan to do. This is Florida. We’ve never let a little taste of Mother Nature stop us before and we damn sure won’t start now.

If you’re able to still attend, we’d love to have you, and we plan on racing hard all weekend.

All of our vendors and sponsors have confirmed they are still attending as planned.

This tweak of the schedule will actually allow us to give you a better event with more time at the track on both days. That means more testing time for racers. More test and tune time. More everything, and that’s never a bad thing. Even in the event that we get excessive rain on Friday, Bradenton Motorsports Park has tons of equipment to ensure both the track and the pits are dry and ready for everyone on Saturday morning.
