Oil Changes with Race Gas

345 Views 8 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  C5 4 NOW
I've been on Mobil 1 10w30 for 250 miles. The majority of the miles have been dyno pulls and street pulls. So for I've been through 10 gallons of 110 and 10 gallons of C16. I checked the oil and everything looked clean but it did smell like race gas. I was told that when you start smelling race gas in the oil, it's time to change it. Any input?

Yes change it to Valvoline 20/50
Drain out the oil. Strain out the oil and seperate the oil from the race fuel. Then put the oil back in the motor and the fuel in the tank. Easy fix.:)
Are you running overly rich and washing out the engine or something?

Other than that, I don't see the correlation between more frequent oil changes with use of race gas, or 93 octane.

There is a correlation with using oxygenated fuels like import or methanol. Either of these will mix with the oil.

Is C16 oxygenated?
