While i was doing regular Maintenance, I noticed about 3 of the 6 plugs were drenched in Oil, I know its related to piston rings. So now im questioning what i should do, My Car has 120k on the clock, Should i replace them, Rebuild motor with new pistons ect. Or should they be fine for the mean time? as Im only mild BPU .. Comments ..

Lol, were the plugs "covered in oil" from the top or the bottom where the spark occurs? How do you know its oil and not just the car running rich?

leaking valve covers, no need to freak out
And that's why I "LOL"d, your assumption about the bad rings made me chuckle.

well, depends.

inspect the plugs BEFORE taking them out, if its super dry in the spark plug valley and you pull out a plug that has oil on the electrode, then you might have a problem.

but if it looks a little oily in the park plug valley then you might just have leaky valve covers, its too hard to tell with super vague descriptions......

Kracin you're right but if for some reason the OP had a oil consumption problem to the point where the spark plugs were dripping wet when removed, that engine would be a glorified fog machine let alone run properly enough to propel a car.

true, ive had something like that happen with a 7m before though, definately not the same engine, but just pointing out the circumstances. car definately ran, didn't billow smoke 24/7 but you could tell that it smoked on decel or right when getting out of boost. and the plus looks like they were always wet with oil. had to clean the plugs every 1k miles or the engine would have super hard starts because of it before it was all torn down finally.

had the same issue and it ended up beeing just the valve cover gaskets your cause may be different though, any way it could be valve stem seals?? maybe someone else can chime it on it
if your plugs were soaked in oil you would notice a ton of smoke rolling out of the exhaust from the oil burning off and same goes for the the case of the valve stem seals if it was that bad you shouldnt be driving your car.

note that the valve cover gaskets are known to be a problem with leaking on all supra motors mostly go bad from all the heat.

think people... oil in the combustion chamber= tons of white smoke coming from exhaust whatever the cause may be.

my car would only smokes at start up if i dont start it for a while, after that no smoke at all which from searching tells me its the valve stem seal and from what i understand it isnt crucial, i plan on changing the seals before i put the car away this year

I'm going to start sounding like a prick if I post any more on this thread but Kevin small amount of smoke at startup is definitely the valve seals going out and it is a documented chronic problem amongst all 2JZs but how would that even remotely result in a drenched in oil spark plug? Trust me when I say TONS of smoke I mean TONS of smoke something like whats in this youtube video link below.
