Will assembly lube leave a whitish-grey goo on the bottom of the oil filler cap, or is there anything else that will cause goo to get on there, besides a bhg?

Well the thing is I did a HG swap about 1000 miles ago, and used a bunch of assembly lube on my camshafts. I used some expensive Castrol GTX oil so it certainly not cheap.

Did you touch the bottom end/oil cooler at all? If not then it is probably residue from your previous BHG. I had the same problem. Two oil changes and everything goes to normal.

Well it just started collecting, so no its not nearly that bad, its just that I did not get coolant in my oil on the first bhg.
