This is odd, trying to figure out.

The engine runs REALLY hot. Low oil pressure.

THe oil is full, good oil....

The hoses from the radiator were hot, and the turbo was hot, but the rest of the engine was cool.

I'm thinking it may be the filter, due to the lack of pressure..resricting oil flow.

Maybe something more serious I'm overlooking?

Do you have the turbo model? If so, it is a low pressure high volume system....at idle, 4 psi or so is normal. While driving, it should be higher, 20 or so...can't remember the specific number but it is something like 20psi @ 3000rpm.

As far as your engine running hot, what is running hot? Is the temperature gauge showing hot? If so, you may be looking at an HG problem...if the engine is hot to the touch, that is normal.

The turbo will be hot as it is connected to the exhaust manifold. The radiator hoses will be hot as well....what you describe is normal. Don't forget, the MKIII has extremelh high underhood temps.

Luckily, it was only the thermostat. It just wasnt working properly. I think its due to a bigger problem, I think my turbo is crapped.
