Does anyone know of a good shop i can take my MKIII to? id like to get it repainted without tearing a huge hole in my pocket. i know with paint you get what you pay for but every penny counts. i looked through the shops and tuners sticky but couldnt find much. so if anyone has any experience with any orlando shops please let me know.

We have a paint and body shop here in Tampa. Not sure if you know Mario who has the two tone sc in orlando but we painted his car. Shop is called DRIVEN CONCEPTS.
Samuels Auto Body is a good shop i checked out awhile ago....i think there site is SamuelsAuto.com or somethin

A Samuels paint job runs more than most MKIII's, no offense to the poster.

Check out Color Key or as posted Driven in Tampa. I haven't heard too much good about other local paint shops worth mentioning.
what does the car have to do with anything? i wouldn't recommend Samuels either, but for totally different reasons.

Why would you post that up? That's entirely irrelevant to the question. Some MKIII owners are willing to pay top dollar for a paint job. The man wants a nice paint job at a reputable shop. He didnt ask the cost of a paint job in reference to the cost of a MKIII.

Agreed. Not a cool thing to say.
I will paint it, I have some left over blue and beige from the house, 250 dollars labor for the car, 300 dollars if it has a body kit, and the paint is free.

I think it's relevant. The thread starter asked for a paint job for an MKIII that isn't extremely costly. I would of also interpreted this as a value at least less than the market value of the car and I'm sure Wes didn't mean the comment as an insult. We all know that some MKIII owners take a lot of pride in their car and sink mods worth many times more than the value of the car but in this particular case we are focusing on a low cost/decent paint job and the car value is a good starting point as an expense cap.
All he had to say was that Samuels does a Top of the line paint job, but it's very costly he never had to use the cost of a MKIII as a reference.
What is a good reference point?
There were many ways around saying a paint job cost more than a mk3.

Yeah but it makes him feel better about himself and his 996TT.

+1
usual bs.. some guys need to build them selfs up on the board to feel good about them selfs .. obviously hes probably not looking for a 10k paint job, but theres nothing wrong with trying to find the best job for your dollar...

cant wait to see it finished!!
So YOU'RE the one who bought Justin's 2J car. Congrats, Justin's a great guy and you got yourself a great car. Don't mind all the "My paint job/wheels cost as much as your car" talk. It's just part of the territory when you buy a MKIII. There's a lot of assholes out there that give us a bad name but there are TONS of guys like Sean, Duane, Ron, and others that could easily afford a MKIV but love the MKIII and therefore choose to build them. Good luck and can't wait to see what it looks like when you're done
My comment about Wes was a joke hense the j/k, like I said I'm sure he wasn't trying to be degrading. The same thing actually came to my mind before I read Wes's post when I thought about MKIII and Samuels in the same sentence. It's not a matter of who is better than who, it's just a good reference point to consider when way more than exceeding the price of the car on paint cost. There are plenty of MKIII owners out there who could easily afford MKIVs if they wanted to.

FYI- Color Key is not a cheap paint job either as it runs $6k for a full paint job and that is not including paint for the undercarpet interior, engine bay, spare tire area, etc.

jeez guys, sorry i even brung them up lol j/k
LOL @ people getting so bent out of shape, no one can read sarcasm on the internet.

I do find it funny when people band-wagon post shit without thinking or reading a post, now that's something to post about.

<--- Forgot he had a 996 as he hasn't seen it in weeks anyway since it's at Samuels.

It doesn't make sense to a lot of people to spend 10 times the value of the car just on paint.
