I'm also interested in Phoenix's work. They're trannies are a refreshful change in price when you aren't blessed with the cash to get the Sound Performance one.

Maybe they make a sponsor car and donate a tranny to a SupraForum's member. *raises hand* I'LL DO IT!!:D :D :D

I know Sound Peformance's transmissions have been tested and have held up to the abuse of several 9 and 10 second cars. I also remember Marko posting about a transmission he and a partner had built that seemed to be working well for him. On a large investment like a tranny, I wouldn't be in a big hurry to try something that doesn't have a good track record behind it.
I think the whole point of Suprat10's post is to investigate their track record before purchasing. In fact, he beat me to the punch and I'm glad he posted the question.

Several auto guys, myself included, are intrigued by the Arizona shop. Please post any experiences you have with Hardparts.

I'm getting my Supra back on Friday with my new Pro-Tech tranny and custom TC - I'l keep you all posted too....

The guys at pro-tech seem like a good bunch...totally backing everthing up, built the tranny - knowing i'm gonna put 700+ thru it...

Hell, I even got emails with pics as they went!!

Price: $2995 - but I'm only running a little T76 so.....hahaha

Phoenix Hard Parts Transmission

I recently installed one about 3 months ago. I have great things to say about this transmissoin. The transmission shifts firm between gears and is holding up to a t78 under some serious boost. If you have questions on this transmission I would call Frank there and ask him what does compared to others. I am not going to slander others but from talking with Frank, he does alot of extra things to their transmissions versus competitors. Call and ask. Thanks Richard
Which stage do you have? Also, what stall converter did you go with? Any idea on why they don't offer warranties if you don't replace the TC? I'm seriously considering one of their tranny's once mine goes out again. How do I know it will? Cuz it will, it just does.

How's their customer service and support? After all was said and done, shipping, installation, labor, etc etc how much did you end up spending? I'm just trying to get a ballpark figure of how much i'm need to save.

Thanks,
Matt

BSE Motorsports of Barrington, IL (847-514-9319) built Marko's car from the ground up, including the tranny. Marko trailored his car to Texas but lost to Ari Yallon in the finals. Marko had the better E.T. but Ari had better reactiion time that gave him the win. I've been through 4 trannies and finally ended up with one that is holding together. MZM International in Austin, TX (512-837-6200) has the hookup for building a great tranny.

I would like to invite anybody that wants info about our products to please feel free to give me a call personally. I believe that we have the best customer service and we will take the time to make sure that you get the correct transmission and converter for your specific vehicle. Regarding the comment that we require a converter be purchased with a trans..... We do this as a safety precaution for our customers! You should NEVER NEVER install a rebuilt transmission w\ a used torque converter!! If you do this, you are SIGNIFICANTLY raising your chances of a failure. This would be due to contaminents that may be present in the converter. Flushing a converter is not enough to remove all of the dirt and particulates. Again feel free to give me a call anytime. I would be glad to talk to you about purchasing one of our great products that we offer.

Thanks
Frank
