BigVic - I've never had a single problem with my titan...I might need to take it back for an alignment...but that might just be in my head. I owned a Tundra also, that damn thing struggled with an empty car trailer...

Yeah that's the hard part. I'm more for the relaibility thing with the Toyota vs. the horrible reputation Nissan has in it's service. The Titan simply looks like a beast, has the higher towing capacity, and the interior is incredible. But I have this reliability fear behind me. Thank you for your input, it's really appreciated. GORGEOUS TRUCK AGAIN!

BigVic - I don't think it's an isolated incident. There is going to be a recall on the brakes soon. Simply put, they put rotors that are too small on a big truck. Recall is coming within a month from what I hear. Don't do the Tundra, I drove that as well... While it drove great, it looked like shit compared to the Titan IMO. Also, the interior SUCKED ass, especially the guage consol, YUCK!!!!! Not to mention, the Titan has a tow capacity of 9,500 while the Tundra is more like 7,800. It was a no brainer...

Peter
Good point also Peter, but like I mentioned before the reliability fear with me since I owned a Nissan before and had issues with the service. I'm probably going to be slapped for saying this but I think i'm going with the Toyota Tundra SR5 stepside 4X4 with the TRD package. I just called my friend and i'm picking up the truck on Friday. I have this fear in me for some reason on Nissan, and although the Titan made extremely huge strides in the truck market releasing this truck, I can't be worried about doing brake jobs every 5K miles, or dealing with Nissan Customer Service on a brand new truck.

Thanks for your input guys, much appreciated again!

The problem with the tundra is they can't tow worth of shit, compared to the Titan. I have yet to see a brake issue on my Titan, but then again I only have 1250 miles on her. Time for an oil change!!!

Good luck Vic, and thanks for the compliments!

Vic, congrats on the purchase, lord knows I'd rather have this Titan under the Toyota name. Like Val stated, the Tundra tow capacity S U C K S and the interior is CHEAP looking. But, in the end, you have the Toyota name, which does mean a lot!

Wes, absolutely! I've towed the Supra MANY times with the Titan. Several trips to/from Austin as well as to the road racing at TX2K5. SW even drove the Titan with the Supra on the trailer and commented on how great it towed. I highly recommend the Titan... My trailer weighs about 3,000 lb's and the Supra is around 3,300 so a total weight of 6,300 lbs. I do have the big tow package as well as a brake controller, so that helps...... Drop me a line at [email protected] if you have any specific questions or if you want some pics of the trailer/Titan together...
Thanks
Peter

Have you towed the Supra with the truck yet ? I might have to go check one of these things out. Been needing to get a truck for a daily so I can tow a trailer and the Titan is looking really good :)

To follow up my previous statement, I love what Nissan is doin with the truck market. They're setting the bar. They are progressing in technology, and performance above its competition. Its not just about size. It everything else. Their design has quality and toughness written all over it. Even their new motto is "SHIFT" - intending 'innovation'. I know im gonna get flamed for this but i gotta say i dont see many other trucks improving their design, style, performance, and quality like Nissan has. Lots of new trucks still look like their design is 10 yrs old.

Nissan did make tremendous strides and did an outstanding job with the Titan IMO. However, their customer service and support (at least in my opinion) and through the opinions of many on titantalk.com, maxima.org, and countless other Nissan site remains constant, they Suck. If they correct that, then they are golden, but many people including myself can't get past that, hence my loyality to Toyota.

Just my .02
