Do machine shops polish cam covers to mirror finish?

I was gonna paint em blue but after detailing a f150 and my moms eclipse today then cleaning engine parts my fingers aren't down for sanding for a good while. Plus it mite look ghey.

If any1's done something to theirs post a pic I wanna dress up my rebuilt engine w/o going overboard.

No.. Send it to polisher or do it yourself. There is alot of thread on polishig aluminium.

Polishing aluminum is actually really fast if you know what you're doing. Harder to get a good shine though than steel, and it never will shine as well as steel.

Plus you'll have to totally strip all the old paint off. And they are valve covers, not camshaft covers..

I'd suggest powdercoating them for $50 and saving yourself a lot of work.
