I installed a CDA9856 in my mkiv, The wiring harness adapter I bought from the local stereo shop takes the RCA outputs of the alpine and adapts them to the factory harness, stock amp and sub still works. But evertime I turn the volume all the way off or the cd player on at start up it pops through the speakers.

Is it possibly the amp is getting to many volts from the preouts of the player?

I would like to get this fixed before I fry the amp or blow the stock speakers.

Thanks

is it when you turn on the unit? alpines have an internal fuse, so they'll make that popping sound when they turn off or on

Is it just popping from one speaker, or all of them? Check to see, because if it is from that one speaker, it is bad.

the speaker might be bad, or check your wires.
