ok well it all started on friday i was cruising around with my friends on the freeway. i saw some sprinkles of water on my windshield so i looked at my temp gauge and nothing happened. got off the freeway and was goin into the canyons and all of the sudden i look at my gauge and its goin up, so i pull over and its steamin out the overflow. take off the rad cap and see that the waters pretty low. being a supra owner i have a gallon of water in the hatch. she drank like almost the whole bottle before it got full again. drive back home on the freeway at 65-80 even boosting some to see if soemthin will happen. nothing happend. last time it blew i couldnt even drive like a block without it getting hot.

ok so i went out again that night boosintg like crazy burning out and stuff and it didnt get hot at all. checked the water today and it was kinda low. no smoke, no milkshake though.one thing thoguh i cleaned out my overflow tank cause there was all this gunk holding the little floater thing but now when i was driving around a little on like inclines and stuff i saw the birdcage flash real fast. so i pulled over and checked the water and it all looked good no bubbling or steam.

i think im gonna try a rad cap from toyota and i need to flush the coolant its still old old coolant. if that doesnt work im gonna take it back to the mechanic that did my HG and tell him whats up.

what do you guys think it could be?

oh i have a HKS Bead style metal head gasket with ARP bolt kit.

do you think i should try retourqing the head?

retorquing the head after a bhg job in my opinion is a MUST. First BHG job i did, i didnt retorque the head and the car started experiencing some BHG-like symptoms....so I went ahead and did a retorque and the problem went away as fast as i fixed it if not quicker. I can pretty much garuntee you that is what your problem is, it just needs a retorque.

do so and report back before you spend anymore uneccesary cashola.

I hate that feeling. thinking you have another BHG. My fairly new stock hg blew within a couple months and the shop took it right back and fixed my headgasket for free.

how long ago did he do the HG job? maybe call the guy back like i did and tell him your problems. he might fix it.
