Hi guys,

I was wondering what figures people have regarding the strenght limit of the stock main caps.
The motor in question has crower rods, je pistons, main and head studs etc.

What power level are people deciding you need to upgrade to aftermarket main caps?

Any info greatly appreciated.

cheers.

I would say anywhere over 1050rwhp... and its probably a great idea to have billet main caps. If you are building a motor spend the extra 600-800 to have billet mains.. there is no point in not doing it.

steelcity, Thanks and i would have to agree that doing it first is a good idea. The reason he didnt was that he wasnt chasing as much power then.

What estimates on flywheel hp do you equate that to. We use Dyno Dynamics dynos over here so rwhp figures do differ a bit from the dynojet i have noticed.

cheers.
