anyone have a problem with their power window switches on the driver side??? for both supras i have had the driver side switch never works for passenger window going up. How do i kno if its the switch or the motor???

bunch of people have had that problem. could be either, its an old car, best bet and easiest to do is to pull the panel, and clean the switch connections, and test it again, if it doesnt work then its most likely the motor. use a special electronics cleaner to clean it

everyone told me my motor was bad, till I connected a 12V (?) lantern battery to it and it went up and down fine. Try this to test. My passenger side windows still will not go down or up. I kinda forgot about fixing that....by the way, if you buy a used switch, the ones from older celicas fit our cars, oh yea and search for some cleaning methods and tips

window switches are evil. I replaced my passenger side one with the switch from the back door of a Cressida: perfect fit, and only $1.50

fatboy do u have same problem as me??? the driver side control allows passenger window to go down...but not back up. the driver side switch windown is fine. i'll guess i'll take it apart and use a test light to check it. and clean the connectoins.

Note, for a easy first try, just spray 'electrical contact cleaner' into it, don't even have to take the switch module out. This might just solve it. If you jump right in and disect the switches, they may be loose afterwards. BTDT

I had same problem. Ripped out switch, and took apart switch. Theres a copper piece in there that the switch rocks up and down on. It was very dirty. Cleaned it with a q-tip and Alcohol (not the good kind though...)Works fine now.

98% of the time or so its just bad connections that can be cleaned off.

Most of the time it is the switch cotacts that get corooded over time. just pull it out and cklean it with some steel wool until the copper shines. put som lithium electric grease and that should work.....unless ofcourse your motor is really bad.
