You really dont need a parkbrake if the car is automatic and your not parking on some really steep incline. And do taking one side of the parking brake off . think of it like putting one bl;ock behind one wheel and not havin one on the other. its up to you . but if you do take if off take it off your side/drivers side cause it will even out the weight distibution with you in the car .

What? You have got to be kidding right. Did you stop and consider that this mechanism is also referred to as an
Emergency Brake:eek:

Besides, the parking brake equalizer is designed to pull on
both cables with the same force.

"Even out the weight distibution" C'mon

In other words...not a good idea.
Be safe and have fun:)

You should still use a parking brake with an auto. I have been told by mechanics that it will damage your tranny over time if you do not use one.
