ok, well i have my car wired up for the 89+ harness and a340e tranny, and just bought a built a340e and just wanted to see if anyone ever had any trouble with pre 89 and post 89 wiring for the transmission, the tranny is pre 89 and my harness is post 89.

I have not heard of any differences. Everybody I talked to says a A340e is the same for all years up to 92. After that I am not sure. If all the connectors are the same I say go for it. I have a auto as well. I got a spare auto from a friend that I intend to make bullet proof later down the road.

shouldn't be any difference, I', putting my auto tranny from my 91 turbo into my 89 Turbo next week. The tranny from my 91 was my old one before I did my 5 speed swap. You should be fine.
