Hey guys,
I'm 18 years old and starting a savings account to import a SZ MK4 supra (manual, max 100000km, decent condition engine, exterior doesnt matter much) in a few years. I was just wondering if anyone could help with how much I'd be looking at spending on just the car alone. I'm thinking of saving $24k-27k (Australian Dollars), and am wanting opinions of how realistic that is for an imported supra.

My dream car is a supra

Thanks guys :)

What do they go for locally down there?
On the main car selling site, they range from 23k - 40k. Depends really on how many KM's they have and condition. Most have at least 200000km on the odo, so Id prefer to import with lower km's. But yeah, 23k-40k for standard SZ supras

Speak to a specialist JDM car importer, and they can let you know what is available at the auctions. The price that the auctions give will be FOB which basically means the cost for it to sell and get put on their wharf. Then you pay shipping, and no doubt import taxes when it arrives in Oz, then you will have to get it inspected, and legal for the road.

Just make sure you use a service that is well respected with lots of positive reviews, as like all businesses, there are cowboys out there.

Also, they are getting far more expensive these days, and very difficult to find rarer later models, but an SZ wont be anywhere near as hard to locate as a 2002 RZ in RSP lol

Amazing! I've already found some reputable importers that many people in Aus use to import JDM cars which is good :) Hopefully 28 grand for the car is realistic :/
Then maybe 2 grand for shipping, 2 grand for the importers, and 5 grand for import tax?
So all up, you reckon 37k for an SZ, manual, with under 100000km is a good amount to aim for?
