someone is selling me a 89 mk3 n/a 5 speed 164.000 miles, two owners in the mid 40s. he want $550.00 it has a leaking head gasket. what is the price range for 89 n/a ? is $550.00 way to low for a 89 5 speed?

I bought my 89 N/A 5speed in Perfect running condition with 230k miles on the clock for $1,800.


But if it has a blown head gasket, about $500 seems right. Talk him down to $400.

I got the one I drive now for 2k with ~170k on the clock. Sounds like a good deal given it has no other serious issues and no rust.

yea I almost bit on a 89 n/a hardtop the other day...salvage title, but I would have just pulled the engine out and turboed it. New engine/tranny with around 25k on them. A little damage on the front, but it would have just needed a new front left turn signal, upper bumper, headlight cover and left front quarter. No rust...the dude was asking 1000, but my g/f was like hmmmmm no...basically we talked about it and I was going to get it, but I stalled too long and it was gone. Fail.
