The engine is going into the shop tomorrow or wednesday. Its getting a balance, line bore, fit to pistons, shot peen rods blah blah blah. Clevite will
provide the bearings. Head is getting a 3 way with mild port.
I will be interested to see how much whp I can make on pump gas (92 here). I hope to have the car on the road in 30 days.
Quick, you may want to slow down your supra because it looks like you are getting to near the speed of light and suffering from decreasing length according to einstein's theory of relativity. Just thought you'd like to know that the ultimate speed limit in the galaxy is adversely affecting your photo ops.
Sounds like you're getting a good start. I'm just on the border of Gresham and Portland if you have any questions. I've done this stuff a few times between my Supras (one w/ sp63 and one w/ t3/t4)
I was thinking about going with the SP67GT but from what I can tell it doesnt start to spool till around 4K. I thought about the SP63 but it doesnt have the new GT style wheel. There are just too many choices.

Don't feel like you have to go with a Sound Performance turbo as well... they don't offer anything that is majorly different from other shops, and from what I've seen of their work on cars...
Well, I am scraping the SP61gt idea. That wont get me to where I want to be on pump gas. I'd like to get as close to 500whp on pump as I can (92 octane). I am thinking a SP63 or SP67gt with a .58ar. Any input would be welcome.
Edit: I am going with the SP63. Order has been placed.
Well, the block is back from the machine shop. I went ahead and had them assemble the short block. All ARP hardware of course. $1700 worth of work. Ouch. Quality stuff though. everything was resized, balanced, shot peened and polished. I should have the head next week. Waiting on the 1mm OS valves to get here. Porting on the head is just about done. Turbo should be here late next week if all the planets are aligned. My manifold was cracked and I gota hook up with Jeff for the replacement and have it ceramic coated.
For those interested, here are links to pics of the block and clutch. I kept them rather big so I wont post them as images.
I think I am going to go with a full T4 manifold and turbo.
I'd like to find out what turbo is proven to put down around 500whp at 18psi (pump gas). I know I could just throw in a 70mm but I want the least about of lag (duh) and still hit or come close to that mark.
Found my turbo kit. I hope to have it here on the 24th. Once I get it I can have Aaron @ Rabidchimp finish fabbing my IC piping. I dont know if I will make nats but I will sure try. May not dyno if I dont have miles on the engine.
Things I need to do before meet:
Install Turbo kit and Intake
Install Emanage
Detail engine bay
Install Walbro
Install IC kit
Hook up Wideband
Detail paint and interior (been sitting for months)
May install oil filter relo and cooler kit if time permits
EDIT:
I am still waiting for the refund on my SP63 and as such my other turbo is still waiting to be shipped. I will not be driving the MKIII to the nats.
The turbo kit is an RHC7 with Greddy/Trust manifold, Greddy 50mm WG, DP etc. 23cm housing. Similar to what Duane is running.
Engine is in the bay and I am awaiting the arivial the C7 form the rebuilders. Hopefully it will get here tomorrow. Then I can get Aaron down here and moc up the aluminum IC pipes and mount the IC. In the mean time I will be wiring in the Greddy 720cc injectors and the Emanage. Target finish date is now late aug/early sept. Probably just in time for the rain.
Looking to start this beast up in 2 weeks. I'm gone thurs-mon for our families annual Bouy-10 camping trip. All I have left to do is install the turbo (provided I ever get the oil lines shipped to me) and wire the emanage and Wideband in.
I also need a replacement for the accrodian pipe. The RHC7 is 3" inlet and I dont think the stock hose will work.
Hopefully everything will be smooth from here on out.
I will be running stock IC and piping until I can drive it up to Aaron so he can fab pipes. I'll post pics of the ghetto adapter I made for the HKS BOV (uses the stock 3000 pipe port).
Well, I started it up last night. I'm a tooth off on the CPS (cam gears are not off) but no leaks so far. I need to wire up emanage and connect exhaust to DP and tune. Hope to start driving it this weekend.
I will post pics as soon as I get the engine bay a little cleaner. Maybe dyno next month (after I get my FMIC and hardpipes fabbed).
It wasnt all that long, a little more than a week after they got the turbo back.
The long part was getting my RHC7. Got delivered, sent it back for a rebuild and balance, waited forever for the oil lines to get here. Had to make my own gaskets cause no one had them in stock. It was not a fun purchase. I hope it was worth it.
I have a friend (who has an 800whp TT mustang) coming over this weekend with his TIG so we can get my exhaust hooked up. Then I should be on the road and tuning.
The DP will be bolted to the stock exhaust for now I guess. Dont have the $$ for a system right now.

I think the weak point will be the ability of the emanage to handle the 720cc injectors without causing the ECU to screw with timming too much. We'll see.
I have the 3" DP/mid pipe. I may look at getting a 3.5" V-band adapter in the future.
I hooked up the PLX M500 last night and the AFR's are right wound 14 at idle (FP is ~37). Doesnt rev good at all but once I fix the CPS that should clear it up.
On another note I cant get my damn inductive timming light to get a signal. Is this common with our coil packs? Off to do a search.....
Well, I started driving in Monday. Runs great, not tuned. Emanage is zero'd out and the afr's are good enough to drive around on, no black smoke out the back. FP is currently at 35 and AFR's are around 14.5 crusing and drop to 10.9-11.2 under WOT (will not be going above 3500-4000 till 500 miles and an oil change). Boost is laggy but that is expected running that rich as well as the stock IC and pipes and stock exhaust behind the DP. Next week I should be able to start boosting and bringing the revs up. Right now I have about 100 miles on it.
If anyone local has some free time and would like to help me tune the emanage drop me a line. It's much easier with 2 brains instead of one (especially since this brain has never tuned an emanage).
