Hey,
I need to know the proper size bolts to attach the 7m to my engine rotisserie as it did not come with any bolts on the arms for attachment of the engine.
thanks,
eric
Engine stand - the part that bolts to the engine and can be turned to rotate the engine over is referred to as the rotisserie.
You'll need the same size and pitch bolts as flubyux2 mentions, but long enough to go through your engine stand first, so you'll need to measure how much meat there is on your engine stand.
thast weird, ive never heard of them referred to as 2 separate entities: stand and rotisserie. i can see how the engine stand will allow a motor to rotisserate, hence, be deemed a rotisserie. but, it threw me off
wasnt there a group by on those bellhousng bolts on SM? i wonder f tehre were any left overs. i thnk 2.5" is long enough for most engine stands, and add a fender washer or 2.
ya i think like grade 6-7 should do the job, last thing you want is your newly rebuilt motor falling off your engine stand "rotisserie" and cracking or breaking something.
There is a guy on Supramania that has them for sale. He bought them in bulk but only needed 4 so he sell the rest to members. Check on SM maybe he still has them.
Sidenote: I can only get 3 of the 4 arms on my "rotisserie" to attach to the block. Think this is O.K.? Anyone get all 4?
Is anyone else completely wierded out by working on an engine on a stand?
try rotating the rotissery 90 degress, I had the same problem and was worried it wouldn't fit on my stand and started shopping for a new one, then I tried that and felt so stupid.
