Does anyone know if Toyota has intended to connect something to the 2 hex plugs on the oem oil filter bracket. I was wondering because I wanted to use them as a way to connect an external oil cooler.

Thi, I don't know about the hex plugs, but do you really need an external oil cooler? Those are typically only needed for road racing.

Is one hex plug connected to the oil inlet passage, and the other, the oil outlet?

If that is the case, it would be interesting to have an oil temp sender in each, so you can see exactly how much heat your cooler is shedding :)
