Guys,

Was wanting to sell my GSXR 1000 to get a Hayabusa. But over the past week I visited a neurosurgeon and I have some bad lower back problems. Do you think the Busa is straight up enough to ride comfortably with back problems? Or should I just sell the GSXR and do without a bike?

Your thoughts?

There are plenty of more "upright" riding bikes and you can always modify yours for comfort. I had a friend who trimmed his windscreen and upper cowl, ditched his clip-ons, ran longer brake, clutch, and throttle lines and mounted a dirtbike style handlebar on his sportbike. He loved it.

Risers and buell pegs will make a huge difference in the ergos. The busa will not be much better. If you have back problems riding any kind of sport bike will suck.

do you stretch / exercise at all?
it might help and let you ride for 1-4 hours

I have major back problems-compression Fx 2 yrs ago- leaning forward helps me.
straight up/down stress (bumps) kill me but riding my 900RR Honda is fine.
I did put 1 inch handlebar risers on it and drop the pegs 1.5 inches-the previous owner had them on it but he was pretty tall-I'm only 5 feet 7 in so a real runt!
I have heard the Busa is more like a cruiser but just sat on one while parked.

It all depends on what kind of pain you have, "back problems" is pretty vague.
