Help guys...I am going tomorrow to look at a supra....I wanted a 6 speed, but I cant seem to find a nice one...The car I go look at tomorrow is a automatic, and I was wondering somthing...I know of course the automatic will win the start, but how much slower are the auto's to the sticks while moving. I mean, is there a BIG diff, or minor. I use to have a LS1, and there was a BIG diff between the auto and the stick...Is it the same for these?

Thanks alot for the help

Ass....

speed_daemon,

Auto's aren't really slower at any speed. . It will get a 6-speed out of the hole and keep on pulling. Last time I raced one of the fastest 6-speeds around (stock twins in his car) I pulled 2-3 cars on the launch. We stayed even after that so he never got it back.

From a roll, I can powerbrake and build 1.15 bar. And as soon as I let off the brakes, I'm at 1.2 bar. C-ya!
I race a Single that Use to be N/A in my Almost Stock TT AUTO....He claims he have 420 RWHP....Well I stayed with him and pass him in the top end......

I found a stock supra the other day in Tampa....He said he will run with me after I took his friend Civic...No Prob....After he saw My Auto Taking Off he didn't wanted to race......AUTO's Are defenetley not slow....Just Test Drive one....and don't forget to test the MANU mode....it gets even more interesting
I have a '95 auto supra......I cant stand it! Its been in the shop for 2+weeks. The tranny went, I have an extended warranty. Toyota wanted to purchase a new one, but my warranty didnt want to pay all that type of money so they went and got a used (rebuilt) tranny. They sent it to toyota and they got it 2 days ago. Toyota called my warranty co. up and told them that the tranny that was sent to them was f*cked up!! So, Toyota got permission from my warranty co. to fix the "new" tranny. Well, the part for it is on National Back Order!! The reason why I know THIS much is cuz a friend of mine works at the body shop for them and called me and told me this. The Toyota Rep isnt keeping me informed AT ALL! SO, I am going to call my warranty co. up Monday morning and see what I can get out of them. I WILL call the Better Business Beauro Monday also if I am not satisfied. I payed for a warranty, I deserve to be treated atleast like Im somewhat important. We'll see what happends monday. Later

Your gripe is with the shop - not the tranny.
Not like clutches don't die often enough, either. Especially on higher HP cars.

Yeah............that's cool.
Same for a launch.

taa- Which LS1 did you have? If you mean one of the GM f-bodies, there isn't that much of a difference from an automatic to a 6 speed. The autos are usually the winners at the drag strip.

A friend has a 2001 SS a/4 running 12.9's with monor bolt ons, another friend has a 2000 Firebird with basically the same mods and he hasn;t broken into the 12;s yet.

The stick does get 2 mph higher trap speeds though.
