Quick aftermarket head unit question when eliminating factory amp

OK, I did some looking around with the factory wiring diagrams and it seems the wiring for cars with and without amps are the same, the only difference is the amp harness that plugs into the speaker connectors and goes under the seat. It seems that the amp harness doesn't have pins/wires in the big connector behind the dash for power/ground, because they are redundant in the connector under the seat. It looks to me that if I pulled the factory amp out, unplugged the amp harness from both ends and removed it, and plugged an adapter harness into the 2 connectors behind the dash(third is for sub, won't be using), I'd be good to go. All I'd have to do of course is wire the head unit to the harness. Am I missing anything?

i think they make a harness you can use for the stock amp w/ aftermarket h/u and circuit city sells them. they said i need this harness when i had my h/u installed, its like $20.
No purchased harnesses in mine at all. All hardwired after I cut the connector to the amp.

You are correct.
