What brand of brake pads makes the quietest brake pads with a good initial bite. From what I've read, oem pads seem to fit me well. Any other suggestions? How are project mu, endless?
Thanks

If you want to retain quiet, excellent braking keep the oem pads & oem discs.

The oem discs are soft & designed to work very well with the oem pads.

Check the disc thickness when replacing the pads. The discs do wear & may not have enough material left on them to resurface.

I always replace/resurface the discs when replacing the pads.

the majority of brake noises come from replacing pads with glazed rotors similar to what tech said, i always suggest replacing rotors when doing pads if the rotors show any sign of a large lip around the edge, any scoring, or any heat spots.

i just had my pad changed and rotors replaced (the resurfaced ones were close to minimal requirement) and the breaking feels great! no noise either

The stock pads are quite good. If you want something a little more aggressive, I'd recommend the Porterfield R4S. They don't squeak, and only dust a little more than stock. I run them on my 95TT. My local Toyota dealer stocks them for the MKIVTT. PM me if you need his contact information.
